KENOSHA, Wis. – A 23-year-old Kenosha man is accused of pointing a gun at his ex-girlfriend’s head during an hours-long ordeal that allegedly included a high-speed drive, threats of murder, and a forced walk to a lakeshore rock pile while he held her at gunpoint.
Joseph T. Leese-Schulte was formally charged Monday in Kenosha County Circuit Court with first-degree recklessly endangering safety with a dangerous weapon, false imprisonment, pointing a firearm at another, and disorderly conduct—all with domestic abuse and weapons enhancers. Court Commissioner William Michel II ordered a $30,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 1.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim told police the incident began shortly after midnight Friday when Leese-Schulte persuaded her to get into his red Hyundai Elantra outside a downtown Kenosha bar. She said he immediately became hostile, began driving recklessly at 80 miles per hour, ignored stop signs, and ranted that she had ruined his life.
The victim said he drove her to the Yacht Club parking lot, pulled a black handgun from the center console, and ordered her out of the car. She told police he pointed the firearm at her forehead while allegedly stating, “You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to do this.”
The woman told officers she was forced to sit near a pile of rocks by the lakefront while Leese-Schulte stood over her with the weapon. She said he relented only after saying, “The only reason you’re still alive is because there are too many cameras,” before driving her to a friend’s house.
Officers later found two handguns in Leese-Schulte’s car, including one matching the woman’s description in the center console, loaded with a round in the chamber. According to the complaint, the suspect denied having any guns in the car when questioned by police and changed his story multiple times about the night’s events.
Text messages from the woman during the incident showed her frantically messaging friends, saying he had a gun and was going to kill her. Police say those messages, her statement, and inconsistencies in Leese-Schulte’s account support the charges.
He faces up to 18 years in prison on the most serious charge.

I’d like to know where this information was founded from
Well you can ccap and look at inmate search. It’s literally there
It’s not though. CCAP only shows charges not the police report. I think that’s what he means.
Ccap! Look it up
He didn’t mean it your honor.
“Well then ok, signature bond.”
What a sick douche bag! He needs his ass kicked!
Mamma raised a gentleman apparently. 😂
Wow !!
Not only did she keep her head, no pun intended, she had the guts to call police afterwards.
Though if and or when he gets out on bond or jail she should still fear for her life.
But what does it all say
on her choice of boyfriends ??
Nobody deserves to be treated like that but really, did she not see this coming ??
She needs to learn a little more on judging men. Though this guy has hardly gotten his man card yet.
Hope he rots long enough in jail to get his own boyfriend to teach him some manners.
They’ve been broken up for years because she did see how he was. She ran in to him downtown and that’s when he took her and did this. This conniving, manipulative, piece of shit is hardly a man and I can’t wait for him to rot in a prison cell.
“According to the criminal complaint, the victim told police the incident began shortly after midnight Friday when Leese-Schulte persuaded her to get into his red Hyundai”
PERSUADED HER !!!!!!??????
Bad choices !! I’m sure she had plenty of other choices that night. At midnight on a Friday. Really ????
Really a shame there aren’t BETTER MEN Available at midnight ON A Friday to take her home or other places. To see what was going on and protect her.
Sad to say, this is somewhat on her for being “Persuaded”
In any conflict between the genders, no matter the relationship nor the actual (not emotionally rationalized) facts, the female is always innocent or right and failures of judgment are the fault of the male. In this case, it appears both parties have shaky to defective judgment.
She is a coke head she has done this before.
Wow. What’s wrong with you? Genuinely.
Yeah no kidding!
She is a coke head she done this before
