KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. — Female officers at the Kenosha County Jail say Sheriff David Zoerner’s administration permitted a male jail employee, who is transitioning to female, to use the women’s locker room without any prior notice or discussion with staff — a move that has sparked outrage among several female employees.
According to a whistleblower inside the Sheriff’s Department, the change was implemented quietly, with no memo, briefing, or staff meeting to prepare female officers or address potential concerns. The whistleblower says that after the change, several female officers reported feeling “extremely uncomfortable” due to statements made by the individual while donning and doffing clothing in the locker room.
Rather than directly addressing the complaints, jail leadership allegedly told female officers who objected that they could use bathrooms in the administration area instead. This effectively shifted the burden onto the women, they argue, instead of reconsidering or pausing the policy.
“This is supposed to be a safe, private space for female staff,” the whistleblower said. “Leadership should be addressing this matter promptly… but it seems they want to keep it hush hush.”
Sheriff Zoerner has previously promised to fire whistleblowers, but Kenosha County Eye will never reveal the identity of a whistleblower — even if I am jailed.
When asked whether the reports were accurate and why his administration would allow the arrangement, Zoerner responded in writing: “Kenosha County is conducting a thorough internal investigation into the circumstances surrounding an employee complaint which was received on Sunday. While we cannot discuss the details of a pending personnel matter, we can confirm that currently no male employees are using the women’s locker room.”
The Sheriff’s statement appears to confirm that a complaint was filed — but does not directly address whether a male employee had, in fact, been using the women’s locker room in recent days. Jail insiders say the denial comes only after the matter began drawing attention outside the department.
For now, female staff remain frustrated, with some feeling their privacy and workplace comfort were deprioritized by an administration more concerned with avoiding controversy than openly addressing a sensitive personnel issue. As one officer put it privately, “We were told to move if we had a problem — that says everything about where we stand in this department.”

Don’t they screen law enforcement for mental illness? With the great deal of responsibility and power that these individuals are entrusted with, people with this level of mental illness should be screened out.

Because the problems run deeper than the sheriff. Employment issues are rampant within Kenosha county government. HR is woke, so feelings are the only thing that matter, and reality takes a backseat.
Why am I not even surprised….. hell nothing that comes from the sheriff office surprises me anymore. But yet entertaining as hell!!

It ain’t just the Sheriff’s office problem. Its what we the people have allowed to happen in our societies. Law suits are costly too and nobody wants to deal with it. A slow slow degradation of morals over many years has gotten us where we are. The TV is jumk now along with many of the commercials paying to advertise. Just look at the brokenness that Kevin finds in society and our Kenosha courts. And we are just one town or city.

Someone would lose there job for speaking out the truth and exposing those who are dishonest and are causing harm or issues with in the work place , Zoener you need to step down and let someone more willing to protect and serve are community !!!
