As outdoor activities increase, Salem Lakes Fire Rescue urges residents to stay alert about bee safety. For individuals with severe allergies, stings can trigger life-threatening reactions, making preparedness critical.
Safety Tips:
- Avoid bright colors or floral patterns that attract bees.
- Do not swat at bees; move away slowly.
- Keep food and drinks covered outdoors.
- Be aware of the nearest medical facility.
- If prescribed an EpiPen, always carry it with you.
.
Stay safe and enjoy the outdoors.

Boy if this isn’t the bees knees.
It is not honey bees. It is yellow jackets and Bald Faced Hornets that are a threat. Honey bees rarely sting.
now if only Salem would get rid of the wasps in the fire department
