Veronica Gloria (34) of Kenosha, WI

Early Friday morning, a Kenosha Police officer observed a vehicle that was crossing over into another lane. The officer pulled the driver over. The driver was identified as 34-year-old Veronica Gloria of Kenosha. Gloria works for Kenosha Joint Services. Kenosha Joint services is an intergovernmental agency that provides 9-1-1 dispatching, records, and other services for Kenosha Police and the Kenosha Sheriff. Gloria failed field sobriety tests and was cited for OWI 1st offence. She also had a THC vape pen in her possession. In Wisconsin, first OWI is non-criminal and is treated as an ordinance violation. The possession charge was cited also as a non-criminal ordinance. The officer could have asked the DA’s office to issue a criminal charge. Gloria’s blood was taken and sent to the crime lab. It will be many weeks before the results are obtained.

KCE spoke with Kenosha Joint Services assistant director Stephanie Lorenzo. Lorenzo told us that the KJS administration was aware of the arrest and they will be reviewing the police reports before they make a determination of whether or not to place her on a leave.

Joint Services has a new director, Josh Nielsen. Nielsen is overseen by the Joint Services Committee. Kenosha County Board Chairman Gabe Nudo recently proposed removing the Chairman of the Joint Services committee, Jeff Gentz. The County Board voted unanimously to make the change. The previous director, retired KPD Officer Tom Genthner and Gentz had an unwritten policy to not fire employees that have been in serious trouble off-duty like Brittney Smith who was charged with Felony Intimidate Victim/Use or Attempt Force, 1 count of Domestic battery, and 1 count of Disorderly Conduct with Domestic modifier. Kenosha Judge Jason Rossell erased the felony and misdemeanors from Smith’s record in an unusual expungement. She was allowed to keep her job. This will be the new director’s first test to see if he will allow employees who commit criminal behavior to continue to work at this important agency.

Carli McNeill’s Trial Record Examined – Abysmal At Best

Kenosha County Eye has heard from many defense attorneys that Carli McNeill (D) is a terrible trial prosecutor. She’s lost many serious cases at trial in front of a jury. In contrast to McNeill, Michael Graveley (D), the current DA, told KCE that he can only recall losing once or twice in his career, which is nearly three times longer than McNeill’s. Graveley is, objectively, a skilled trial prosecutor. He commands the courtroom and knows how

  1. This is how it works in Kenosha.

There will be an evaluation conducted to determine what damaging information this employee knows about other employees and operations of the system. If she has dirt, she will stay so she will keep it to herself. If she has no dirt, she will be fired and replaced with someone of lighter skin.

  2. Give her a break ! She is an awesome lady and employee! She made one flipping mistake as if none of us have .. stop with putting good people down ! Get out and pick on real criminals .. murderers, meth and fentanyl dealers , pedophiles … give Ms Gloria a break !

    1. No, a mistake is spilling a glass of water. A mistake is forgetting your house keys and locking yourself out of your home. Failing a field sobriety test and possession of marijuana in any illegal form is not a mistake. It was a choice. She works for the courts. She should know better. She should be held to a higher standard, not a lower one. Ones choice of a job should never be seen as a free pass for wrongdoing. She knew the law. She broke it.

  3. Considering the free pass Ziminiski received dozens of times, the slap on the wrist Grosskruetz received I’d say the woman is a Saint. One DUI, nobody hurt or killed, the pot vape device? Fuhgeddaboutit. Leave her alone.

      1. Thank you Kevin. Someone has to say it. Time people hold their government to a higher standard, not a lower one. She knew the law and she broke it. If anything, people who work in government and or a position of public trust (Cops, firefighters, EMTS, what have you) should face stiffer penalties as they more than anyone should know right from wrong, legal from illegal. Otherwise, you end up with out of control dumps like that northeast corner of Illinois that is Crook and Snake Counties, and Kenosha is heading that direction if no one takes the inititive to right the course.

  4. I endorse your policy in the case of Steinbrink’s, Beth at Country Thunder, cops who murder citizens possibly, Officials who cover up for years, etc. you know who the corrupt ones are Kevin. Come on man, you can find a bigger dragon to slay then this woman who had a mild infraction off duty on a Friday night.

Bring down the Mayor for his years of infraction’s, Gravely, Binger, Beth just to name a few. How come law and order doesn’t apply to these officials? Why pick on soft targets?

    1. I agree that this young woman’s criminal behavior is lower than a lot of the stuff I cover. The bigger picture here is that we have a government agency that employees many criminals. There is a change of the guard which very well could fix the issue of the corruption at joint services. I hope this happens

  5. I suppose hang her at sunrise. Put a possible mom, wife out of a job for God forbid unwinding on a Friday night. Such a blatant disgrace and violation as a public official. I don’t want this discussion here. Fuck it, let’s execute her and be done with this demon. In the name of law and order.

Steve, Kenosha has been in that direction for well over 75 years politically speaking. Heading in that direction?

    1. I wouldn’t doubt for a second that it has been. I’m glad I moved out of Kenosha, so I can watch the dumpster fire from a bit further away now. I lived there maybe six years, and it was a major step up from Illinois, to me anyway, but the longer I lived there, the more I saw what was really going on. THey just did a better job of putting lipstick on a pig I suppose. Or maybe as I settled in, I paid attention more. In any case, that downhill slide, whenever it started, is still unacceptable. Now yes, I am no longer living there, but I have friends, close friends, who do live there, and so I try to, as I put it, watch the dumpster fire from afar.

    2. anonymous- wow- you are too pussified to say your name- typical
so- i say why wait until sunrise to hang her- burn her at the stake at midnight- you could roast marshmallows by the flames- but the smoke , i assume, would be tainted with drugs from her burning corpse.
this is what is wrong with america today- prayer out of school(there never were these school shootings when prayer was allowed in school)- people committing crimes and being allowed to sue and collect money from the law enforcement agency that arrested them.- people trying to toss our constitution out (they should just move away from america if it is such a horrid nation to live in- go somewhere that has a constitution they are happy with)- most of these folks lack jesus in their hearts
      – they should be ashamed of themselves but most have no conscience-.
it takes one generation of morals and values to be ignored for a society to go to the gutter- it is so sad that it is happening before our eyes. i wll not be silent – i will not just shut up and be pretty- i will cuss, fuss and pitch a hissy fit because our nation is worth saving and making great again.
yall should all watch 2000 mules if you have not- it is happening and we should all be mad as hornets.
now go light that funeral pyre (jim morrisson sang it best)

      1. Hasn’t the leadership of the Southern Baptists been exposed as a seething, slithering, and sinful den of pedophiles? Please spare us of your pompous talk that fearing God will set us all straight.

  6. Kevin, your last comment made me simmer down a bit. I agree with your point. We love you in this camp. I can be be an opinionated hothead at times. Sorry for being so opinionated.
