KENOSHA, Wis. — A Kenosha family is asking the community for help after Cole Tomassetti suffered a catastrophic medical emergency that nearly took his life and required emergency open-heart surgery.
Tomassetti’s wife, Ashley Tomassetti, said her husband was rushed into surgery after suffering an aortic dissection — a dangerous condition involving a tear in the body’s main artery carrying blood away from the heart.

“What happened was sudden, terrifying, and completely unexpected,” Ashley wrote on a GoFundMe created to help the family. “One moment life was normal, and the next he was fighting for his life.”
