Bristol resident and attorney, Xavier Solis, announced his campaign for the office of Bristol Municipal Judge. This position will be decided by voters on April 4, 2023.
Solis states his campaign is rooted in a desire to serve his neighbors and ensure justice is upheld, especially in cases that affect the safety of the community, like drunk driving and speeding. “I don’t just want to live in my community, I want to support and improve it,” Solis stated. “Bristol residents deserve to feel safe. Violators like those who operate while intoxicated will be held accountable for their dangerous actions.”

Would be interested in knowing more about this man’s political leanings, if anyone has any insights.
One of the problems with the old judge was that he was a “hanging judge” who pretty much rubber stamped whatever came in the door. He passed away and we don’t know a lot about his successor but I am interested in knowing (1) what’s wrong with the incumbent and (2) what each candidate feels about being guided by the law. I mean we don’t have an organization Mothers For Drunk Drivers. Of course we shouldn’t like drunk driving but a judge must also promise to follow the law above all.
We know that the current Bristol Board appointed Mr. H after the last elected judge passed away. We know that Solis is an actual attorney, while Mr H is not. We know the current Bristol board is supporting Mr. H, the guy they appointed. This is an elected position so it’s up to the voters of Bristol. I hope they choose Solis instead of the boards handpicked choice who is less qualified.
Bristol board back and bites for whomever is going to decide in their favor at all times. Bristol residents need to stand up like Salem lakes and clean house of the dirty politics!
I posted it in the wrong place but Xavier is a good guy. I’d like to hear more from him, of course, and also from the current judge if he goes for a full term. Xavier is a lawyer. The present judge is, I think, a retired police officer.
If I lived in Bristol I would vote for Xavier based on his cufflinks and socks game alone!
In all seriousness he would be a good judge.
