An Illinois Judge slapped Rhonda Bohr-Mrnak with a 2-year restraining order for allegedly threatening her 11-year-old step-daughter with a gun, and physicaly abusing her multiple times. She was ordered to stay more that 200 feet away from the girl and her home. The 12-page restraining order petition was obtained by the Kenosha County Eye. In the petition filed with the McHenry County Clerk of Courts, there were many allegations of inappropriate behavior from Mrnak. The 11-year old girl stated that Mrnak slapped her, pulled her hair, grabbed  her by the arm and threw her to the ground, pushed and shoved her, made her stand outside in the winter with no jacket and no shoes for 30 minutes, and lastly, threatened her with a gun. The 11-year-old later alleged that Mrnak ripped apart her doll to teach her “how it feels to have something of yours mistreated.”

Threat With A Gun

The 11-year-old detailed an incident while visiting her father, Mrnak’s now-husband. She said that Mrnak and her were arguing. Mrnak got up, and grabbed a loaded pistol.  She unloaded the gun in front of the little girl and told her to “go ahead and try it!” The girl did not respond, and then Mrnak grabbed the gun and brought it back to the bedroom saying “It’s always loaded.” According to the girl’s mother, she called her ex and asked her and Mrnak about the behavior on speaker phone. Mrnak admitted to everything “except the slap.” DCFS later started an investigation but those records are sealed from the public. The Illinois Judge believed the 11-year-old and granted the restraining order after a hearing.  It is unknown Mrnak’s boss, the embattled DA, Michael Graveley took disciplinary action against her. She is still employed today at the DA’s office working as a “Victim/Witness Advocate”

Kenosha District Attorney Michael (Mike) Graveley (D)

As you might have guessed, Graveley was not eager to talk with us about Mrnak’s behavior. The girl’s mother took to social media last week to blast Graveley, saying “Can’t really take Kenosha County (District Attorney’s Office) seriously when a victim impact specialist at the DA office threatened a child with a gun and proudly defended it as ‘discipline’.”

We have records that show that Deneen Smith, the ultra-liberal reporter that handles these types of stories was notified of this incident and declined to write a story. That is why you are getting this a little late. This happened before the KCE was established.

  1. I am very happy that the KCE brings us these stories. Thank you

This is absolutely deplorable behavior on the part of this woman. She is unfit to hold her position. Graveley should know this. If he doesn’t, he is unfit for his position.

  2. Is this the same person who owns the BBQ business along with her husband? I wouldn’t support that place or people like this if it is her.
