Kenosha, Wis. – The Kenosha community is coming together to support Zane, a 16-year-old sophomore at Tremper High School, after he was recently diagnosed with Stage 3B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist his family as he undergoes treatment.
Zane’s journey began unexpectedly on February 25, when he, his father, and his sister were involved in a minor car accident. Just days later, he began experiencing severe chest and shoulder pain, leading his parents, Jeff and Stephanie, to seek medical attention. To their shock, imaging revealed a large tumor in his chest, and he was immediately transferred to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, where doctors diagnosed him with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Zane has since started an aggressive chemotherapy regimen, with treatment scheduled every two weeks for the next six months. His father, Jeffrey Gracyalny, shared an update on March 16, stating that Zane recently completed his first round of chemotherapy but faced complications, including a 104-degree fever, which required a hospital stay. Despite the challenging start, he has shown signs of improvement.
The GoFundMe fundraiser, organized by family friend Anne Chianello, aims to ease the financial burden on Zane’s family as they navigate his treatment. Chianello described Zane as a “quiet, sweet, funny, and incredibly talented soccer player,” emphasizing how much he and his family mean to those around them.
“We want to thank everyone for the amazing outpouring of support from family, our soccer family, friends, and even people we don’t know,” Gracyalny wrote. “It has helped keep Zane’s spirits up as we navigate this very difficult journey. Words cannot express how grateful and appreciative we are.”
The Tremper High School community, along with local residents, have already begun rallying around Zane, offering financial support, prayers, and encouragement.

About Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system, which plays a crucial role in fighting infections. It is considered one of the most treatable forms of cancer, especially when detected early. However, treatment often requires intensive chemotherapy and extended medical care.
As Zane continues his fight, his family remains hopeful, expressing gratitude for the support they’ve received and vowing to keep the community updated on his progress.
