.KENOSHA, Wis. — Lori Plahmer has resigned as Kenosha County’s Health Officer, effective Monday, ending her tenure as head of the county’s Division of Public Health after just over a year in the role.
County Executive Samantha Kerkman announced the resignation Tuesday, thanking Plahmer for her service and wishing her well in future endeavors.
Plahmer first joined the department in 2020 as a temporary nurse during the county’s COVID-19 response. She was promoted to Clinical Services Manager in 2021, then served as Interim Director in 2023 before formally becoming Public Health Director and Health Officer in January 2024.
The resignation letter, dated and signed Monday, gave no advance notice, offered no reason for the departure, and mistakenly spelled County Executive Kerkman’s name as “Kirkman.”
Kerkman said the county’s Human Services leadership team will begin the search immediately for Plahmer’s successor.
More information about the division’s programs and services can be found at kenoshacountywi.gov/health.

I wish Cassie Hiller would step down.
Mark Melotik needs to resign too.
That’s an odd statement. He has kept everything together. Show yourself!
Parting Shot ??
Good riddance. She was terrible and I’m glad that Kirkman and others finally realized it.
