KENOSHA, Wis. — Despite multiple deputies documenting visible injuries, blood evidence, and their repeated disbelief of both parties’ explanations, the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office has declined to file charges against Racine County Sheriff’s Detective Emil Ortiz.

Back the blue no matter what they do. The next time he will kill her and claim self defense.
Backing the blue is getting old.
Back the Blue/Back the Badge got us into this sh*t.
Smells like a reason for a recall.
If he’s not going to prosecute in a situation like this… everything else is just for show. He’s no different than the rest of them.
Wow- different DA same BS.
Think about this. You or I would be in jail. No questions asked. There is definitely a double standard.
The reality is domestic violence cases are hard to prosecute with a cooperative victim. If the victim isn’t cooperating, it’s not worth the time or the effort to put in front of a jury. Let his sheriff deal with him.
Exactly!
Bootlicker.
With a uncooperative victim If the victim and suspect were put on the stand under oath and told “their” story couldn’t the prosecutor call a Dr. to testify that the injuries couldn’t be caused the way they were saying they were ?
This cop needs to be charged, fired and lose the right to own a weapon. None if this is happening. The old double standard again.
What is even worse is the guy is a cop with domestic violence issues.
He cant get charged if victim isn’t cooperating
Yes he can
Cops have to put up with the worst of crap every day. When they come home the last thing they need is an unsupportive spouse turned into a grating Nag and/or a Cheat.
it’s a big blue club and you are not in it
What will it take to do anything about this guy? Will she have to be bludgeoned to death?
It won’t matter— back the blue, no matter what they do.
Mrs. Ortiz, please don’t become another statistic. Come forward and get the help you deserve. We really do not want to read your obituary.
Since your screen name indicates you are a perverted, immature, creepy old man I doubt she will heed your sincere expression of concern.
Oh boy here comes the haywood hater again!
LOVE the screen name! Thanks, she’s on you now lol!
Yep lovin the screen name too! Lol. She’s gonna get all fired up again!
POS Can’t wait to say “Shots fired.” She needs to get a concealed carry license, and handle it herself…
He said he said
He said she said
they said, she was helping cover for him
O my I can’t believe this he is not charged what the hell is going on, I know people that got a lot worse for a lot less how does this guy get away with this, does he still have his job? Come on DA you got to do something about this, He is a disgrace to the Badge and to other that hold the Badge,The Victims is more then likely scared and has no choice to play the game .
In today’s world, it’s far too easy to rush to judgment—especially when the headlines involve law enforcement and domestic abuse. But what happens when the narrative isn’t what people expect?
A local deputy recently found himself at the center of swirling rumors, social media slander, and assumptions that nearly destroyed his reputation. Why? Because people couldn’t believe that he—a man, and a cop—could be the victim of domestic abuse.
Let that sink in.
No charges have been filed against this deputy because, after a thorough investigation, it became clear he was the one suffering in silence. He stayed quiet to protect the very person who was hurting him. Blood on the walls and floor? His. The broken nose? Done to him. And still, he chose silence over retaliation. He chose to protect.
But the truth couldn’t stay hidden forever.
His estranged wife—the actual aggressor—now has a warrant for her arrest. She fled to her home state rather than face the consequences of her actions.
Yet the damage to his name is already done.
Why is it so hard to believe that a man can be a victim of domestic abuse? Why do people assume strength means immunity? Why does wearing a badge mean he couldn’t be the one hurting behind closed doors?
This case is a painful reminder that men can be victims too. Abuse doesn’t discriminate by gender. And when the world refuses to believe a man’s pain—especially a man in uniform—it only adds to the trauma.
Before you slander someone’s name, know the facts. Ask questions. Don’t assume. Don’t let stereotypes blind you to the truth.
This deputy deserves support—not shame. And all victims of abuse, no matter their gender, deserve to be believed.
