“Kenosha could not be more fortunate than to have Carli McNeill as its next district attorney. I wholeheartedly support her.

I have worked with Carli for 13 years. I am proud to call her a colleague and a friend. Carli is one of the hardest working people I have ever met. She puts in long hours, well beyond the minimum, to do her job with excellence. She is very knowledgeable about the law, shows very good judgment, and is a good listener. Her ethics are above reproach. She is an excellent trial lawyer who has also demonstrated excellent leadership skills.

I believe that if you asked the top performers in local law enforcement, then the vast majority of them would wholeheartedly agree that Carli is an excellent, excellent choice for DA,” said Burgoyne on Saturday.

About Drew:

Andrew “Drew” Burgoyne graduated from Marquette Law School in 2005 and was admitted into the Wisconsin Bar in the same year. Burgoyne is a veteran prosecutor and is universally liked by the defense bar, because of his reasonableness, straightforward communication, and overall positive demeanor. He lives in Pleasant Prairie with his wife and children.

KCE asked Burgoyne why he became and continues to work as a prosecutor on July 14, 2023. His response was: “I’ve always been passionate about trying to help those in need – keep people safe. My own faith plays heavily into [being a prosecutor.] My Life verse [from the bible] is Micah 6:8 ‘He has shown you, O man, what is good and what the Lord requires of you? But to do justice and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.’

(Burgoyne wanted KCE readers to know two things – His endorsement is from himself as a private citizen and in no way is speaking in his official capacity as an Assistant District Attorney. Burgoyne also wants KCE readers to know the following: “Carli has asked me to be her Deputy DA if she is elected.  I have accepted that honor because I firmly believe that she is the best person to be the next DA of Kenosha County, and I am eager to assist her with those weighty responsibilities.”)

Carli McNeill’s Trial Record Examined – Abysmal At Best

Kenosha County Eye has heard from many defense attorneys that Carli McNeill (D) is a terrible trial prosecutor. She’s lost many serious cases at trial in front of a jury. In contrast to McNeill, Michael Graveley (D), the current DA, told KCE that he can only recall losing once or twice in his career, which is nearly three times longer than McNeill’s. Graveley is, objectively, a skilled trial prosecutor. He commands the courtroom and knows how

  1. I would like to know if Carli McNeill had anything to do with the massive failure to not charge the pedophile who was having sex with all the under age black girls.

  2. I am very familiar with both Drew and Carli. If i could wave a magic wand, Drew would be the guy…he is everything you would want in a DA. Drew is honest and straight. He also does not let his personal beliefs affect his decisions. He doesn’t fold to special interests. Kenosha would be happy to have Drew as the DA. But I guess Carli is a good choice too…just not as good as Drew. She has the sway and folds to her victim witness zealots when prosecuting. She is like Gravely 3.0. (Gravely 2.0 was the current judge Angie Gabriele.)

    1. I think there’s some validity to that. We need independent prosecutors who are willing to do their jobs ethically and with vigor but who also are good stewards of the public trust.

    2. In the trades, every crew of workers as a foreman. Typically the foreman is someone who wants the job and loves the power over other people. Most of the time that’s fine but some of the time it gets out of hand. There’s an old saying that the person who wants the job is the last person who should get the job and the person who doesn’t want the job is the person you want in that job. This could be the case here.

Drew Burgoyne is smart enough to stay away from the politics and top of the heap targeting. I’m guessing he would much rather be extremely successful and effective in his subordinate position, than have to spend time in the top position doing other things than the crux of the job.
For that decision, we can be happy that he is on our side.

    1. Judge Gagliardi should have a fair chance to prove himself. Atty.Burgoyne would also make a good judge. I’m not sure that he resides in Kenosha County — I could be wrong — but he would be a good choice.

  3. Maybe Drew should run and let the people decide instead of them already making the decision behind closed doors and giving each other favors
