KENOSHA, Wis. – A Kenosha woman is facing more than a dozen felony charges after allegedly stealing and using a senior care facility’s credit card for personal shopping sprees at area retailers, according to two criminal complaints filed Monday in Kenosha County Circuit Court.
Megan C. Sheehan, 39, was charged in two separate cases: a felony file with 14 counts related to unauthorized credit card use, and a misdemeanor file alleging a retail theft spree at Woodman’s. She appeared in court the same day, where Court Commissioner William Michel II ordered $1,000 cash bail in the felony case and signature bond in the misdemeanor case. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 15, but only in the felony matter.
According to the felony complaint (2025CF958), Sheehan is charged with 13 counts of unauthorized use of an entity’s identifying information and one count of misdemeanor theft. Prosecutors allege that between May 25 and May 28, while employed at Dayton Residential Care Facility, Sheehan stole the company’s Chase Ink business credit card and made at least 13 unauthorized transactions totaling $1,123.67. The charges included purchases at Meijer, Speedway, BP, T-Mobile, Hot Topic, and Kenosha Gas Stop.
Investigators from the Kenosha Police Department linked Sheehan to the transactions using store surveillance video, MPerks rewards card data, and still images of her at the checkout counters. Meijer loss prevention confirmed that a loyalty account connected to Sheehan was used in several of the transactions, and photos provided by the store showed her using the card to purchase groceries and multiple Visa gift cards. Detectives say Sheehan returned to the store repeatedly, sometimes accompanied by a man believed to be her husband, and used the stolen card until it was canceled. The card was later found returned to the care facility.
In the separate misdemeanor case (2025CM908), Sheehan is charged with three counts of retail theft for allegedly stealing from Woodman’s Market on three occasions in March. On March 9, she was captured on surveillance video failing to scan non-grocery items at the self-checkout before leaving the store. On March 14 and 15, store personnel allege she pulled the same stunt—leaving with unpaid merchandise totaling more than $70 across both visits. Loss prevention later identified Sheehan by matching tattoos and facial features to her booking photo.
If convicted of all charges in both cases, Sheehan faces more than 78 years in prison and tens of thousands of dollars in fines.
Her preliminary hearing in the felony case is set to be held on July 15 before Court Commissioner Michel.
