KENOSHA, Wis. — A Kenosha teen who was scheduled to appear in adult court Wednesday afternoon for allegedly bringing a knife to school earlier this year failed to show up, prompting a court commissioner to issue a warrant for his arrest.
Kamryn Gant, 18, was set to appear at 1:00 p.m. before Court Commissioner William Michel II for an initial appearance on a misdemeanor charge of carrying a dangerous weapon on school premises. When Gant did not appear, Commissioner Michel issued a $500 cash arrest warrant.
The charge stems from a February 11 incident at Indian Trail High School and Academy, where Gant—who was 17 at the time—allegedly displayed a folding knife with a three-inch blade to other students. Though he initially denied having a weapon and passed a metal detector screening, surveillance footage later showed him with a backpack that was later found to contain the knife.
Because Wisconsin law treats 17-year-olds as adults in criminal cases, Gant was charged in adult court. The complaint was filed on June 24, shortly after his 18th birthday.
As of Wednesday evening, court records indicated that Gant had not been taken into custody. A new court date has not yet been scheduled.

How’s that low bail thing working out for you? We need a different Court Commissioner.
“Teen”
I hate Kenosha teens.
Welcome to the party pal.
Serious adult charge for knife, juvenile charge for a loaded gun at the same school…. Weird. This was so the public couldn’t see the report and video of them missing the gun.
POS “Teen”
He didn’t “miss” anything.
