PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. – A Kenosha woman arrested during a 2023 traffic stop with individually packaged heroin and cocaine has been sentenced to five years in state prison after multiple missed court appearances and a pair of arrests.
Angel N. Holman, 47, pleaded guilty to possessing heroin with intent to deliver and was sentenced Tuesday by Judge Gerad Dougvillo. She received two years of initial confinement followed by three years of extended supervision. A second felony charge for cocaine possession with intent to deliver was dismissed as part of the plea deal.
Holman was initially arrested on Jan. 13, 2023, after a Pleasant Prairie police officer pulled her over near 12800 Green Bay Road and reported smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search turned up $595 cash, four cell phones, and dozens of individually packaged baggies containing heroin and crack cocaine. The heroin totaled 4.3 grams and the cocaine 5.1 grams, according to the criminal complaint.
Charged and arraigned on Jan. 17, 2023, Holman was given a $5,000 cash bond by then-Commissioner Loren Keating, which she posted nine days later. But she missed two subsequent court dates, leading Judge Dougvillo to issue a $20,000 arrest warrant in March 2024. She was taken into custody again in July.
Her bond was later reduced back to $5,000, which she posted the next day. Holman remained free until sentencing.
At Tuesday’s hearing, the court gave her credit for 103 days served in jail. She was ordered to submit a DNA sample and pay the mandatory surcharge. Holman is immediately eligible for the Substance Abuse Program, which can reduce prison time upon successful completion.
Her bond was revoked and applied to court costs. Holman was taken into custody following the sentencing.
