KENOSHA, Wis. — The City of Kenosha Parks Department is inviting residents to request replacement trees for parkway planting this fall. Homeowners who had a tree removed from the grass strip between sidewalk and curb within the past five years may qualify for a new tree, with plantings scheduled for October through November.
To get on the list, residents should call the Department of Parks at 262-653-4080 and ask to be added to the Reforestation Program. A staff member will visit the property to confirm eligibility and determine how many trees can be planted based on the site. If approved, the city will mail an order form and the season’s available species; residents must select their preferred tree and return the completed form to be included in the fall schedule.
Requests for the 2025 program will be accepted through Sept. 3, and completed order forms are due by Sept. 12. After that, new requests will be rolled into the 2026 planting cycle. Trees are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and the cost ranges from $50 to $150 per tree, which includes planting and tax. If a site does not qualify, the city will notify the resident and explain the reason for ineligibility. For more information, call 262-653-4080.

That’s a slapshot way of reforesting, a tree here and a tree there. Select a block and plant the whole block.
