Kenosha Firefighter/EMT On Paid Leave For Third Time While City Investigates Child Sexual Assault Allegations

Kenosha Firefighter/EMT Kerry Poltrock

A Kenosha Firefighter and EMT, Kerry Poltrock, is on paid administrative leave for at least the third time for alleged criminal conduct. Kenosha Sheriff’s Detectives were investigating Poltrock for sexually assaulting his two young daughters until City Administrator and former police chief John Morrissey intervened. On June 3, 2022, Morrissey told KCE, after reading court documents, that he was directing the City’s Human resources department to re-open an investigation into Poltrock’s sexual assault allegations. Monday, June 13, 2022, Fire Chief Bigley told KCE that he put Poltrock on leave again.

The Kenosha Firefighters Union, Local 4-1-4, is seemingly standing by their member. We reached out to each and every member of the executive board and not one member would tell KCE why they were standing by and defending Poltrock. Here is a list of the union officers:

  1. When you ‘vote Blue no matter who’, this is the kind of irresponsible government you get.
The apparent employment status of Fire Fighter/EMT Poltrock is part-time civil servant for full-time pay while engaging in full-time sexual assault & domestic violence activities.

  2. the system is definitely fractured. is it the fire dept., the city (mayor) or is it that the union with the fire dept is so strong that no one in city admin will stand up to them? it is unthinkable that the union or any of those in city admin would want someone like this representing their whole fire department. we all know most of those men and women are fine people. but i would not think they would want someone like mr poltrock being the face of the fire dept. caring for our citizens. caring for our children. remember besides what he has done to his own children and wife he worked for several months without a license. no license and again caring for our citizens. there are so many things wrong with this on so many levels. yet on he has gone with no consequences from the city. one has to wonder what has gone on. is it the poltrock name. is it he has someone close to him in the union. seems there is one name on that union list who is his best friend. we don’t know but i thank kce for bringing this to the front and to mr Morrissey to raise questions on this situation. lets see if this rises above politics of the city

  3. i cant help to notice that ray tessman is on the union as grievance chair. this guy is poltrocks very good friend. isn’t this a conflict of interest. shouldn’t he be removed for this review. he certainly cant be open minded and unbiased and will only defend his buddy. seems like the good old boys club where no matter what the fireman has done they will stick together rather than have the courage to stand up for what is right. time to change

  4. I Completely get brotherhood and protecting our own but at some point they need to do the right thing. how can the kfd and its powerful union protect behaviors that certainly dont reflect that of a public servant. someone held to a higher standard. even if u just look at the fact that this man beat his wife and the fact that he practiced as a EMT Without his EMT license for months. NEVER told his employer…is this the character the KFD wants representing them. come on friends in the union, influencial people on the KFD. stand up for once and think about this and do the right thing
