KENOSHA, Wis. – A 49-year-old Kenosha man already in jail is facing new felony charges after prosecutors say he smashed open a laundromat coin machine with a fire extinguisher and made off with a bag of coins in a pre-dawn burglary.
Epstein D. Scott was charged Thursday with felony criminal damage to property and misdemeanor entry into a locked coin box, both as a repeat offender. Court Commissioner William Michel II set his cash bond at $5,000, though Scott remains in custody from prior cases and is unlikely to be released.
Surveillance footage from Holiday Village Laundromat on 52nd Street captured the incident, which occurred around 5:20 a.m. on April 17. According to the criminal complaint, Scott entered the laundromat with his face partially concealed, waited for other customers to leave, then struck the coin machine repeatedly with a fire extinguisher until it broke open. He scooped coins into a grocery bag from the trash before attempting, unsuccessfully, to access a second compartment.
The machine’s owner told police that about $50 in coins were taken, but the coin machine itself was valued at $3,000. The fire extinguisher, which was also damaged, was worth an additional $200.
Scott was identified through facial recognition software that matched a recent Kenosha County Jail booking photo. His state Department of Corrections agent and two Kenosha police officers who arrested him earlier this month also confirmed the match.
Court records show Scott has prior convictions for violating domestic abuse orders and bail jumping, qualifying him as a repeater, which could add up to two years to his sentence if convicted.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 5 at 8:30 a.m. in Kenosha County Circuit Court.

Some people are just useless and contribute nothing productive.

Wow. Came across a Kenosha eyeball page. That page should be called against Kevin. Holy shit
Its wild how obsessed they are with him 😬
You notice Jacqueline Niccolai, an individual that has been mentioned on KCE more than once, is an ‘author’ for that site? I’ve seen plenty of body cam footage to conclude she is a lunatic.
If you see her within 100 ft of my house or me, let me know. I have a restraining order against her for the next 4 years. In clinical terms she is bat shit crazy
To me, her blog is a form of harassment and should be included in the restraining order.
Smashed in with a fire extinguisher? That sounds like what he should be sentenced with. But the punishment match the crime. Hold still and put your forehead against the floor, sir, while we get the fire extinguisher.
This useless piece of filth belongs alone on an island with no food or water
