KENOSHA, Wis. — A 31-year-old Kenosha woman is facing six new criminal charges after allegedly stealing a vehicle and resisting arrest while already out on bond in two separate cases.
Crystal S. Wakefield appeared in Kenosha County Circuit Court on Tuesday, where District Attorney Xavier Solis personally attended the hearing and requested a high cash bail, citing the defendant’s history of reoffending while on pretrial release. Court Commissioner William Michel II set bail at $10,000 per case, totaling $20,000. Wakefield remains in custody. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 24.
The first case, 2025CF844, stems from a vehicle theft reported in Pleasant Prairie on June 14. A man told police he loaned his 2012 Kia Sorento to Wakefield—whom he initially knew under another name—so she could make DoorDash deliveries. He said she was supposed to pick him up from work the same day but never returned. According to the criminal complaint, the man warned Wakefield that he would report the SUV stolen if it wasn’t returned by noon on June 13. She then allegedly claimed she had driven the vehicle to Indiana and could not bring it back until June 17.

However, license plate cameras captured the SUV in Kenosha on June 14 and again on June 16. Police located the vehicle in the 5900 block of 33rd Avenue and found Wakefield standing outside it, removing items. She was taken into custody at the scene.
That arrest gave rise to the second case, 2025CF843. According to the complaint, when a Kenosha officer approached and attempted to detain her, Wakefield allegedly refused to comply, tensed her arm muscles, and began yelling. Officers were forced to physically restrain her. She is now charged with resisting an officer.
In both new cases, prosecutors also filed bail jumping charges. Wakefield was previously released on bond in two pending Kenosha County matters: a December 2024 misdemeanor retail theft case (24CM1691) and a February 2025 felony theft case (25CF200). In each instance, she signed bond agreements stating she would not commit any new crimes while on release.
In total, Wakefield now faces:
- One count of Theft of Movable Property (over $5,000) – Class H Felony
- Two counts of Felony Bail Jumping – Class H Felonies
- Two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping – Class A Misdemeanors
- One count of Resisting an Officer – Class A Misdemeanor
.
If convicted on all charges, Wakefield could face over 21 years in prison and up to $70,000 in fines.
According to court records, both the 2024 and 2025 pending cases remain open. Tuesday’s charges now mark her third and fourth active felony-level cases in Kenosha County.

Her lawyer looks like he’s going to get black fatigue.
Why would you say that?
Most of the stories on this site involve white people who commit crimes.
