KENOSHA, Wis. — A 50-year-old Kenosha man with a violent criminal history was arrested early Monday and charged with running a drug house and repeatedly selling fentanyl and cocaine over the course of several weeks last year.

Patrick L. Young Sr. appeared in court Monday after being taken into custody on a $50,000 arrest warrant issued June 27. Prosecutors filed five felony charges that same day, including three counts of delivery of fentanyl, one count of delivery of cocaine between 5 and 15 grams, and one count of maintaining a drug trafficking place. All are charged as second or subsequent offenses, increasing the potential penalties.

District Attorney Xavier Solis asked for a $100,000 cash bond, citing Young’s lengthy criminal record and the fact that a warrant had to be issued for his arrest.
“He has more than one, two, three, four counts of delivery,” Solis said in court. “This individual was previously convicted in Kenosha County back in 1992 for attempted first-degree murder, use of a dangerous weapon, and substantial battery. He received 12 years of initial confinement. He’s also been convicted of battery by prisoners, possession with intent in Racine County, and multiple delivery convictions here in Kenosha.”
Court Commissioner William Michel II instead ordered $50,000 cash bail. The preliminary hearing is set for July 9.
According to the criminal complaint, Young was the subject of an undercover operation led by Detective Joshua Zeller of the Kenosha Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit. Working with a confidential source, investigators conducted three controlled buys from Young between July and September of 2024. In each case, the source went to Young’s home near 61st Street and 23rd Avenue to purchase fentanyl and, in one case, crack cocaine.
Surveillance video and test results from the transactions confirmed the presence of fentanyl and cocaine in the quantities described. In total, the fentanyl delivered weighed over 6 grams across three buys. The cocaine delivered in the final transaction weighed just over 7 grams.
Young’s past convictions include a 2009 Kenosha County case for delivering cocaine, for which he served prison time. His record also includes violent felonies dating back more than three decades.
If convicted of all counts, Young faces more than 60 years in prison, plus additional enhancer time due to his status as a repeat offender.
