RANDALL, Wis. — A 20-year-old man is facing criminal charges after allegedly entering a stranger’s camper at the Country Thunder music festival and climbing into her bed while she was asleep.

(Kenosha County Sheriff)
Preston Andrew Kelley, of Lodi, was charged Friday in Kenosha County Circuit Court with misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass to a dwelling and disorderly conduct. Court Commissioner William Michel II set his bail at $1,000 cash and ordered him to stay off the festival grounds, avoid alcohol, and have no contact with the woman involved. Michel described the alleged behavior as “creepy.”
According to the criminal complaint, the incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. Friday in the Crown Camping area of the festival grounds in the Town of Randall. A Kenosha County sheriff’s deputy was flagged down by Country Thunder security staff, who reported that an unknown male had entered a camper that did not belong to him and was refusing to leave.
When deputies arrived, they found a white Dutchman-style trailer with a Chevrolet Suburban parked in front. The trailer’s owner, a 36-year-old woman, told deputies she had been asleep when she was awakened by a man entering her camper. She exited the trailer and sought help from security. When she returned, she found the man lying in her bed, under the covers, refusing to leave.
Deputies entered the camper and found Kelley lying beneath the woman’s comforter and sheets, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The woman confirmed she had never seen him before and had not given him permission to enter her trailer. Records showed the SUV outside the camper was registered to her, not Kelley.
Deputies also learned this was not Kelley’s first issue at the festival. Earlier, he had been cited for underage drinking and later had his wristband revoked, barring him from re-entry. Officers had warned him to return to his campsite, sleep it off, and leave the event grounds once sober. Instead, Kelley allegedly entered a stranger’s camper and refused to leave.
During the encounter, deputies said Kelley became irate and insisted that he owned the camper and had been “renovating it for the past four months.” Despite being told the trailer belonged to the woman, Kelley continued arguing with deputies about ownership before finally complying with orders to exit.
Kelley now faces up to nine months in jail and a $10,000 fine for criminal trespass, along with up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine for disorderly conduct.
He is scheduled to return to court on September 4.
