KENOSHA, Wis. — A $15,000 arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for 19-year-old John Donell Jackson, who is now wanted in connection with a burglary and theft at Blackhawk Tobacco on Roosevelt Road. The charges come after months of determined work by Kenosha Police Detective Daniel Wienke.
Although Jackson has a registered address in Jacksonville, Florida, authorities believe he may still be in the Kenosha area.
Jackson is accused of committing two crimes at the same business. On Saturday, August 31, 2024, he allegedly ran out of the store with three packs of THCA prerolls worth $47.44. Then, less than a week later on Friday, September 6, he’s accused of smashing the store’s glass front door with a cinder block just before 3:30 a.m. and stealing additional merchandise.
Surveillance footage from both incidents showed a suspect with dreadlocks wearing distinctive Kappa slide sandals. While the initial investigation yielded no solid leads, Detective Wienke stayed on the case — reviewing video, collecting fingerprints, and running facial recognition searches over a span of months.
The breakthrough came on February 17, 2025, when facial recognition software identified Jackson from a Florida ID photo. Two days later, Wienke contacted the Wisconsin Crime Lab and requested a fingerprint comparison using Jackson’s FBI file.
On March 21, 2025, the lab confirmed three of the prints from the burglary scene belonged to Jackson. The matching footwear between both incidents further bolstered the identification.
Detective Wienke’s persistence — from combing through footage to pushing forward with advanced forensic tools — ultimately led to charges of burglary, misdemeanor theft, and criminal damage to property.
Jackson remains at large. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the Kenosha Police Department.

Isn’t that their job?
Do you really think that or are you trolling? That is just a really dumb dumb comment. Plain dumb.
