PADDOCK LAKE, Wis. — A 31-year-old man is facing felony charges after allegedly confining, battering and strangling a woman during a domestic violence incident at their shared home in Paddock Lake.

(Kenosha County Sheriff)
Alexzander Bud Maurizzi appeared in court Tuesday and was formally charged with four counts: false imprisonment, strangulation and suffocation, substantial battery, and disorderly conduct, all as acts of domestic abuse with repeater enhancers. Court Commissioner William Michel II set his cash bail at \$20,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 8.
According to the criminal complaint, deputies from the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a home on the 6900 block of 236th Avenue on the night of August 4 for a report of family trouble. When deputies arrived, they spoke with Maurizzi, who appeared intoxicated and gave conflicting stories about what had occurred.
Meanwhile, the victim had fled the home and taken a rideshare to a local hospital. There, she told deputies that Maurizzi repeatedly cornered her, threw her down, and strangled her multiple times, preventing her from leaving. She also reported that he slammed her fingers in the front door as she tried to escape.
Medical staff diagnosed the woman with a fractured skull and noted multiple injuries, including swelling, bruising, petechiae on her neck, and significant trauma to her fingers.
Maurizzi was arrested at the scene after deputies determined he was the predominant aggressor. The complaint notes he has prior domestic abuse convictions from Walworth County in 2020.
If convicted on all counts, Maurizzi could face more than a decade in prison due to the repeater enhancers.
