KENOSHA, Wis. – An 18-year-old Racine man is facing serious felony charges in Kenosha after prosecutors say he stabbed his girlfriend during a fight, fled the scene, and led officers on a chase through multiple city blocks before being captured.

Knowledge N. Harden-Moreland appeared in Kenosha County Circuit Court today, where Court Commissioner William Michel II ordered him held on $15,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 27.
Harden-Moreland is charged with five counts: first-degree recklessly endangering safety, misdemeanor battery with a dangerous weapon, resisting an officer, and two counts of disorderly conduct. The most severe charge carries a maximum penalty of 12 years and six months in prison and a $25,000 fine.
Stabbing Allegations
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to an apartment near 55th Street on the evening of August 21 for a report of a stabbing. Officers arrived to find a woman bleeding from a leg wound. She identified Harden-Moreland, her boyfriend, as the one who attacked her.
The woman’s cousin told police the two had been arguing because she wanted to end their relationship and asked him to leave. Instead, Harden-Moreland allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and “sliced” her leg before fleeing the apartment. A large chef’s knife was recovered at the scene.

Chase Through Neighborhood
As officers searched the area, one patrol officer spotted Harden-Moreland near 56th Avenue and 55th Street. When the officer identified himself, Harden-Moreland reportedly turned away and took off running.
What followed was a chaotic foot chase through residential yards, with officers ordering him to stop as squad cars closed in. At one point, police said, he ran into a neighbor’s garage and startled two men inside, prompting one of them to reach for a baseball bat before Harden-Moreland backed out and fled again.
Police said Harden-Moreland eventually appeared exhausted and gave up near 55th Street, where he lay down on the ground and surrendered. He was handcuffed without further incident.
Next Steps in Court
Prosecutors argue that Harden-Moreland’s actions put his girlfriend’s life at risk and disrupted the surrounding neighborhood. In addition to the stabbing, he is accused of resisting arrest and alarming residents during his flight from officers.
Harden-Moreland remains in custody at the Kenosha County Jail. His case will return to court later this month, where a judge will decide whether there is enough evidence for it to proceed to trial.
