KENOSHA, Wis. — Kenosha Unified School District notified Tremper High School families Tuesday morning after police alerted school officials to a shooting threat circulating on TikTok. According to the district, the student who allegedly made the threat was identified and taken into custody before the school day began.
District officials said they do not believe students or staff were ever in danger. Still, out of what they described as an abundance of caution, there was an increased police presence at the school during morning arrival.
KUSD emphasized that threatening statements—whether online or in person—cause fear and disrupt safety in schools, urging parents to speak with their children about the seriousness of making or repeating threats. The district encouraged families to continue reporting safety concerns through its Speak Up/Reach Out program.
Anyone with questions or concerns is asked to contact Tremper High School at 262-359-2200.
