KENOSHA, Wis. — More than 1,000 works of art created by students from across the Kenosha Unified School District will be showcased when the district’s 54th Annual Districtwide Student Art Show opens March 14 at the Kenosha Public Museum.
The annual exhibit, now in its 54th year, features artwork from KUSD elementary, middle and high school students. Pieces will be displayed throughout the museum’s galleries, giving visitors a chance to experience a wide range of student creativity — from early elementary projects to advanced high school work. The artwork will also be evaluated by jurors for various awards.
Galleries will open to the public at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 14. The exhibit runs through April 19 and is free to all visitors.
Teacher meet-and-greet events are scheduled to give families and community members an opportunity to connect with educators whose students are featured in the show. The elementary school meet-and-greet will take place Monday, March 16, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., while the secondary school event is set for Tuesday, March 17, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
KUSD Coordinator of Fine Arts Scott Plank said the show continues to highlight the talent and dedication of students throughout the district and reflects a strong partnership with the Kenosha Public Museum in bringing student work to a broader audience.
The Kenosha Public Museum, located at 5500 First Ave., is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Community members can contact Plank at 262-359-6388 for additional information about the exhibit.
