KENOSHA, Wis. — Applications are now open for one of the city’s most recognizable annual traditions, as organizers begin preparing for the 2026 Kenosha Civic Veterans Parade, scheduled for Sunday, June 28.
The parade, presented once again by Snap-on, will highlight this year’s national milestone with the theme “United States Celebrates 250 Years,” encouraging participants to showcase patriotic displays, community pride, and creative craftsmanship.
The event is set to begin at 1 p.m. at Washington Road and Seventh Avenue, traveling south through downtown along Sixth Avenue before concluding at Library Park.
Organizers are inviting businesses, civic groups, nonprofit organizations, veterans groups, and municipal entities to participate. Entries can include decorated floats, marching groups, vehicles, and performers. Floats will be judged in several categories, including Most Patriotic, Hometown Pride, Superior Craftsmanship, and Best Use of Theme.
Application fees vary depending on the type of entrant. Commercial businesses are required to pay $150, while nonprofit and civic organizations pay $25 with proper documentation. Veterans groups, elected officials, and municipal departments may participate at no cost.
Participants are asked to submit completed applications no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, May 29, either by mail or in person at Kenosha City Hall. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted, and organizers say early submissions are encouraged to secure placement.
Parade entries must be prepared to maintain a steady pace of approximately 2 mph and follow all safety rules, including restrictions on throwing candy, use of fireworks, and alcohol consumption during the event. All floats must also report to a staging area for judging prior to the start of the parade.
Additional details, including parade placement and staging instructions, will be provided to participants ahead of the event, with more information expected to be released in June.
Applications and further information are available through the City of Kenosha.

Parade fees will be waived if the theme of your entry is Orange Man Bad.
