KENOSHA, Wis. — A Democratic candidate for Congress is set to make multiple stops in Kenosha this weekend as part of a multi-day tour focused on rising costs and economic concerns across southeastern Wisconsin.
Peter Burgelis, who is running for Wisconsin’s First Congressional District, announced a four-day “Who’s Better Off These Days?” listening tour that will include 21 stops across communities including Racine, Kenosha, Oak Creek, Whitewater, Beloit, and Janesville.
The tour is centered on engaging directly with residents, small business owners, and workers who are feeling financial pressure from inflation and increased living expenses. Burgelis, a former restaurant owner, said he intends to hear firsthand how rising costs are affecting both businesses and families.
“When food prices go up, when supply costs rise, when margins get tighter, small businesses feel it first,” Burgelis said in announcing the tour. “And those costs do not stay there. They get passed on to families who are already stretched thin.”
Burgelis is scheduled to be in Kenosha on Saturday, May 2, with several public-facing stops throughout the day. According to his campaign, those stops include Kenosha Coffee Roasters at 11 a.m., Rustic Road Brewing Company at noon, Tenuta’s Delicatessen at 3 p.m., and The Garage at 4:10 p.m.
The campaign says the goal of the tour is to contrast what Burgelis describes as a more hands-on, locally engaged approach with representatives who spend more time in Washington than in their districts.
The First Congressional District spans a large portion of southeastern Wisconsin, stretching more than 30 miles north to south and roughly 60 miles east to west, encompassing a mix of urban, suburban, and rural communities.
Campaign officials said media members and residents interested in attending specific stops can request additional details from the campaign.

Is he trying to confuse with a Trey Gowdy hair stop?
The grating castrate RINO Trey Gowdy’s image is repulsive to those with memory of his wormy doubletalk and obsequious deferral to the crooked Robt Mueller as uttered through his smashed nasal cavity, which ultimately wrecked his political career. Burgelis likely has calculated that if his pandering claptra pulls off a win in the Dem primary, the Dem network’s ground operation in the Nov general election will “bring in the vote” after the polls close, as Chicago Mayor Daly used to say in the 50s-60s. And he may well be right.
So, what makes this guy worthy of press coverage? Sorry if that sounds a bit snappish, but I’m sincerely curious how this all works. Ballotpedia currently lists 9 different D candidates in the August primary, but I’ve only seen a handful of them get any individual media coverage. Looking at the KCE only, I see stories on Bryce and Berman and now Burgelis, but not the other 6. Is it just that those other guys haven’t done anything after they got on the ballot?
I happened across a story on Burgelis on TMJ4 a few days ago, then found another story on WPR about him, and the whole time I was reading those articles I was wondering why he’s getting all this attention compared to the other candidates. At that point he hadn’t done anything but announce his candidacy. The KCE story now at least makes sense since he’s actually visiting Kenosha, but the earlier stories seemed to be so much hot air. So, he doesn’t live in the district that he wants to represent, his policies sound like generic center D from the little I’ve seen, he doesn’t appear to have a campaign website yet, and in a paywalled MJS article where I can see only the first paragraph, he’s reported as being “verbally abuse” with “female staff” in July 2023. What’s the big deal with him?
Oh I don’t know dumb fuck….maybe the first line that said he was making multiple stops in Kenosha? See why it’s relevant now?
Why are Dem men so soft and womanly? This guy would blow over in a slight wind. Homo.
Carpetbagger.
