KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. — Judge Jason A. Rossell on Wednesday sentenced 44-year-old Kenosha man Jeremy D. Kipp to just 180 days of work release for felony OWI 4th offense, a sentence critics would say underscores how lightly the Kenosha County judiciary continues to treat repeat drunk-driving offenders — even those facing felony-level charges that many states punish far more severely.

This wasn’t just a OWI. He totaled a vehicle. 4th time deserves serious jail time!
Six months in jail for a dangerous felony?
Well that sure was a nice thing for the judge to do. I bet the judge got some long term bets on polymarket that this joker hits his 5th by 2032.
Epic failures here. Generous plea deal from the DA’s office dropping a reckless endangerment charge and then this sentence on a felony conviction. At least the judge could have put him on probation and ordered the jail time as a condition so that his drinking could be monitored.
Do a search of the 50 state DUI penalties and you’ll see that WI is one at rock bottom. This has historically been the case because of WI’s relationship to beer production.
