KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. — A 21-year-old man is dead following a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning on Interstate 94 southbound in Kenosha County.
According to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at 8:44 a.m. on July 5, 2026, to the 200 block of I-94 southbound for a report of a single-vehicle crash involving a white Toyota Camry. Callers reported that the vehicle struck the median wall, became disabled near the median, and had airbags deployed.
While deputies were on their way to the crash, dispatchers received another call at 8:52 a.m. reporting that a black Kia Telluride traveling southbound struck the disabled Toyota.
The 21-year-old man driving the Toyota was the only person inside the vehicle. He suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, where he later died.
The driver of the Kia and a juvenile passenger were also taken by ambulance to area hospitals. Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
According to the preliminary investigation, the Toyota was stopped in or partially blocking the inside lanes of I-94 when it was struck by the Kia. Members of the Major Crash Assistance Team responded to assist with the investigation.
The crash caused all southbound lanes of I-94 to close for several hours while investigators processed the scene. The interstate reopened at 12:29 p.m.
A Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said there were no signs that alcohol or drug impairment played a role in the crash. The spokesperson thanked all responding agencies for their assistance and said the investigation remains ongoing. No further information was available as of Monday.
