MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers announced today that he is seeking applicants for the Kenosha County Circuit Court – Branch 3. The appointment will fill a vacancy being created by Judge Bruce E. Schroeder’s retirement, effective Nov. 27, 2023. The new judge will complete a term ending July 31, 2024.
Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Fri., Nov. 10, 2023. To apply, please email a completed application form and supporting materials to GOVJudicialAppointments@wisconsin.gov.
The application can be found on the “Apply to Serve” page on Gov. Evers’ website at: www.evers.wi.gov.
Applicants with questions about the judicial selection process may contact the Governor’s Office of Legal Counsel at (608) 266-1212.
Governor Evers’ appointment, however short-lived, will likely be the liberal candidate to run for the full term this Spring. Two far-left, little known lawyers are already broadcasting their intention to seek appointment and or run for the new seat. Western Kenosha County lawyer Frank Gagliardi (D), whose family had donated thousands of dollars to Evers and other Democrats, will likely make a second attempt at being appointed by the liberal governor. He was rejected by the governor in 2019, but he and his father are confident in this appointment because of their family’s almost $50,000 in donations to Wisconsin democrats over the years.
Gagliardi has been investigated and disciplined by the Wisconsin Supreme Court office of Lawyer Regulation.
(Correction dated Saturday January 13th 2024 at 12:10 p.m.)
Although Kenosha County Eye correctly reported that Gagliardi admitted to being disciplined by the office of lawyer regulation, Gagliardi has since told Casey that this box was checked inadvertently.
Long-time liberal Roberta Pointill is also talking about applying for the position. She, like Gagliardi, has donated to Evers and other democrats over the years. Pontillo has dreams of becoming an activist lawyer like her number one hero, RBG.

Conservatives need not apply!
Isn’t there any conservative lawyers in the county that we could get behind?
I agree, Bruce is one of the best judges in the County and I hate that he will be replaced by a liberal judge who will further the depravity in this area
Exactly. Like Solis. But I hear he is running against Berg. Any truth to that?
We don’t want the job
HEY …. another opportunity for Kenosha to spiral further downward .. !!!
it is so sad. I wish I knew why Kenosha was filled with so many liberals who want crime to perpetuate here
Franky says he isn’t political but he and daddy’s money say otherwise.
The word “assume” always presents a danger. Those with military service will know it.
Just because these two lawyers contributed to Democrats doesn’t automatically mean they will be “liberal” judges.
Reality check: Bruce Schroeder was a Democrat district attorney when he unsuccessfully ran for the legislature as a Democrat.
The governor is a Democrat and there’s a 99% chance he will appoint a Democrat to fill a vacancy. I know both of these lawyers. Both are pro-business and neither is an extremist. The governor could do worse (and has).
Before condemning them by association let’s hear where they stand on crime and other issues.
Big shoes to fill. In 1983 Bruce Schroeder, a Democrat who served as district attorney and an unsuccessful Democratic candidate for the State Senate, was appointed circuit judge by then Gov. Anthony Earl, a Democrat.
Neither of these lawyers is known to be extremist or particularly liberal. It’s a safe bet that Gov. Evers, a Democrat, will appoint a Democrat to fill this vacancy. He could do much worse (and has).
Maybe , just maybe , we don’t need a crook Democrat holding that seat.
We don’t want a “crook” as judge, period.
If the governor has to choose between these two attorneys at least neither is a hell-bent liberal.
The reality is that the governor will typically appoint someone who is aligned with the governor’s party. This applies to both parties with rare exception. For example, Judge David Wilk, who had Democratic ties, was nonetheless appointed by Republican Gov. Scott Walker with whom Judge Wilk’s family had personal ties.
Buying a political office is the ‘merikan way! Citizens United Forever!
