Republican Lawyer Announces Bid For Kenosha County District Attorney

Attorney Xavier Solis (R-Bristol) announced his candidacy for the office of Kenosha County District Attorney today.  A graduate of the University of Illinois-Chicago Law School, Xavier has been dismayed at the poor record and thoughtless handling of crime in Kenosha County.  His opponent, Carli McNeill (D), was handpicked by the Democrat Party establishment to continue this soft-on-crime, underhanded way of dealing with violent criminals. McNeill was also the one who signed the criminal complaint for Kyle Rittenhouse, a famously contentious decision.

“It’s obvious the Democrats have chosen her because they know they will continue to push their political agenda of sanctuary cities, disarming law abiding citizens, and no cash bail, just like they do in cities like Chicago, Milwaukee and New York,” Xavier states. “It is about upholding the rule of law, having good judgment, and protecting survivors.”

“In my practice, I have advised many individuals who were both charged with or were victims of crimes and guided them through the judicial process.” Xavier notes that several serious and controversial cases have been shipped to neighboring counties, due to political pressure from elite members of the Democrat Party, which would suggest that District Attorney Mike Graveley and his second-hand woman, Carli McNeill, are seeking to avoid criticism for their sentencing recommendations.

“There are hundreds—literally hundreds—of cases in which violent, disturbed criminals skated free of any jail time or being prosecuted at all,” Xavier says.  “I intend to shine a spotlight on as many as I can over the next 7 months before the election, so watch my campaign.”

Xavier Solis is ready to root justice firmly into Kenosha County again.  He is a believer in conservative values, the Constitution in particular self-defense, and is on an impassioned mission to stop the negligence and abuse being allowed in our justice system. “It’s not about getting ‘tough on crime,’ ” Xavier states. “It’s just about doing the right thing and administering justice as it was intended to be.  Criminals deserve punishments that fit the crime. Walking free after violent crimes against our citizens isn’t justice.”  Xavier encourages all of Kenosha County to pay close attention to this political race.  “I hope to earn your vote in November.  Our safety depends on it.”

In addition to law school, Xavier also graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with an Accounting Degree. He has been in private practice for more than 10 years practicing in Kenosha County and other surrounding counties.

  1. Kevin, I appreciate the regard here for a fellow republican, but there’s seriously no other candidates you can conjur up? Some of the things this man says in court is just a bit.. out there and plain weird. I also found that his Avvo page states he only does 20% criminal law, with the majority being immigration law and is also what his overall categorization lists as. This isn’t Nogales or El Paso, so I’m not sure he has any relevant experience for the position.

He actually has no prosecutorial experience from what I see, which leaves me wondering why he should head the county’s prosecutors. Prosecutorial immunity is a powerful thing and he would go from having zero experience of arguing on the State’s behalf- to having the key to the county’s charging discretion.

Typically, it seems the KCE community has an appreciation for experience. The unqualified and “having separate experience” arguments are the same in which this site raised against Frank Gagliardi (which I agreed with and did not vote for him). But, I’m curious why this guy gets the green light? Since he has no prosecutorial experience, I can’t imagine that he’s ever argued FOR a cash bond or restrictive conditions once in his career. Instead, as a defense attorney, he’s probably argued once, twice, or a few hundred times about how someone deserves a signature bond because they have “a job and ties to the community” which I suspect goes against the promise he’s making about “protecting survivors.”. He seems to be a good politician, though, so maybe he’ll have a chance.

Just some things to think about.. I’d be interested in other candidates whomever they may be.

    1. One votes for the ones who step up. Kce can’t conjure up candidates. Vote for the best or the best representing your own values. So far Solis is the best. Our best hope.

      1. It would have been nice if Drew Bergoune (conservative) would have gone for the position instead of maybe being Carli’s asst, which was disappointing. It seems like a lot of people on here would have voted for him.

    2. “to having the key to the county’s charging discretion.”

McNeil had the charging discretion to charge Kyle Rittenhouse with murder. I very much disagreed as he clearly defended himself.

    3. Conjure up? Xavier rose to to occasion. He came from poverty in a small Texas town and put himself through college and law school. I’m a college drop-out. Why don’t YOU run? Are you a lawyer? I’m just reporting on a press release I was sent. I also happen to be as admirer of Xavier. Immigration law? Nah. He does about 95% criminal. I work for him and in the same building.

      1. Yeah and that really qualifies him to be a DA. Get real…..he is woefully under experienced. Then again, that is a majority of the Kenosha legal community….

        3
        4
        1. So if McNeil is so qualified. Why did she decide to charge Kyle Rittenhouse with murder? Does she not know the self defense law in Wisconsin? No she does not. So yes I am getting real and voting for Xavier Solis.

          1. The self-defense law is not an automatic “get out of jail free card.”

It is a defense that a defendant may raise at a trial. It’s up to the jury to decide whether to buy the self-defense claim.

            1

    4. Considering the current situation where thoroughly experienced prosecutors refuse to prosecute except for when they decided to try and punish someone for personal reasons, I’d rather have someone with limited experience if they are willing to actually enforce laws and prosecute people regardless of DEI and other mind-benders

  2. I think the “old girl network” at the courthouse will turn on him as they did Judge Gagliardi.

Having said this, it will be interesting to see what specific initiatives Xavier proposes. As for criminal law experience, this is not a small county. We’ve suffered from having DA’s who were good trial lawyers but not necessarily the best administrators. The boss is supposed to get work done through others and secure the resources they need to do it. Maybe someone from the outside will have a different perspective.

  3. McNeill thinks she’s a shoe in for the job. They definitely need someone with a track record of prosecutions and real life criminal court experience to run against her.

All McNeill does is help delay trials for months… costing us all time and money.

  4. I wish we had a Republican running in Walworth County. Sadly, our GOP is supporting the liberal running, Zeke Wiedenfeld.

      1. Sounds typical of Chris Goebel! He is collecting signatures for Zeke at the GOP headquarters! It’s disgusting.

    1. Yikes, as an “R”, that’s a terrible way to determine who is best for the job. Current case in point: Mike Johnson. If you don’t do your research, the only “R” you’ll end up with is a RINO.

  5. It’s heartening to see a Republican candidate running for District Attorney, although I have reservations about Xavier’s suitability for the role given his past experiences as a Guardian ad Litem at Kenosha Family Court. My concerns stem from instances where Xavier’s decisions led to adverse consequences, particularly for children. For instance, his recommendation for unsupervised visitation with an abusive father resulted in significant harm to two young girls, both physically and emotionally. The subsequent reversal of this decision by the judge came after the girls had already endured mental health challenges, including self-harm and suicidal ideation. These experiences underscore the critical importance of experience and sound judgment in roles that directly impact vulnerable individuals’ well-being.
While I appreciate the idea of having a Republican candidate in the DA office, I cannot support Xavier’s candidacy given the potential for revictimization of crime victims due to his lack of experience. It’s crucial that candidates for such roles possess a deep understanding of victims’ needs and are equipped to handle sensitive situations with empathy and expertise. As I consider my vote, I’ll be looking for a candidate who embodies these qualities and can effectively advocate for justice while prioritizing the well-being of those affected by crimes.

    1. This is obviously someone who has access to confidential court records. It is inappropriate for you to comment on confidential juvenile matters as outlined in the Supreme Court rules. You should take this down as it is also UNTRUTHFUL.

      1. None of this is untruthful and I am not violating an confidentiality records rules as there is no mention of names on either side; parent’s, children, case# etc. As a parent I have the right to share my experiences with Xavier. Just as you are allowed to share your limited knowledge on the subject.

    2. It is hard to predict the future.
A guardian ad litem can play it safe and deny father’s rights for months or years based on crazy accusations from crazy women.
That is what all the lady GALs do, play it safe, at the expense of fathers and childrens relationships.
Standing up for father’s rights takes balls.
      Attorney here

    3. if you are so worried about children you should ASK CARLI MCNEILL WHY DID THE DA OFFICE REFUSE TO CHARGE A PEDOPHILE MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER

  6. Wouldn’t the judge make that final decision? I know someone at this moment that has 2 children that have been in and out of supervised/unsupervised and now supervised visits again. The father has put them through so much physical and emotional abuse that he is now only allowed to see them with a court appointed third party company and only in public. The kids sometimes literally get sick before they have visits with him because they are so scared. In the end, it wasn’t the decision of the DA. It was the decision of the judge. It’s a sad situation for the kids and they still honestly love their Dad, but he needs help. One day, hopefully he will get it before it’s too late and something even more serious happens to the kids.

  7. Gravely is retiring. Thus there is no seated incumbent running for “re-election”.
This is the best opportunity for someone new to win !

This position is open to whomever wants to tell us why they will be the best for our county.

As for trying to turn this position Republican and/or Conservative, that on the voters. But to do that we need candidates to STEP UP and be heard !

If you are that person, this is the easiest opportunity to get there. Just announce you are running, force a primary and have a few debates !

If you don’t like Xavier Solis then recruit someone you think would be effective conservatively.

But until then, Xavier is my guy !!

    1. Xavier is my guy too. Don’t be fooled. This is a partisan race, unlike judge races, so it is between Republican v. Democrat.

  8. Anyone currently working in the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office should not be put in charge of the charging decisions in Kenosha County.

  9. No thanks. This ARCH conservative has watched him in court. Many times. I would not hire him to represent me. There must be better conservative choices.
Gravely is a GREAT court orator. I always admired him for that skill. I’ve known him for well over thirty years.
Yet his actions in the last ten years show he is no fan of “Law and Order.”

NEVER, EVER vote for a Dem, progressive, liberal or RINO.

  10. Good God why? Xavier let a wife beating child rapist drunk off the hook because the coward is somehow related to that oompa loompa tenuta creepster (his clients whole family is notorious woman beaters and pedos) I won’t mention names. But they run around isolating girls and ruining the girls lives and their unsuspecting families lives with their little corrupt connections and manipulation. The women his client has traumatized and raped are permanently mentally ill. If family tries to step in and save their daughter from that pedo or ones like him they can forget it, they will find out quickly that the cops and entire legal system will make sure the family members are put away. They don’t want anyone messing with their pedo playground. The girls dont realize it until they are brain damaged from the police protected abuse. That town is beyond ruined. They need to bring in the feds and gut the entire legal system, top down.
