During Christian Enwright’s initial court appearance where bail is set, he encountered a big surprise – two detectives armed with a search warrant. It was signed by Kenosha County Circuit Court Judge Chad Kerkman. It commanded law enforcement officers to seize Enwright’s phone.

Enright is a fired teacher from KUSD’s KTEC West school that was charged last week with 22 counts of disorderly conduct for the grooming of a 12 through 14 year old student of his.

Enwright’s attorneys arrived for the court hearing at 12:45 p.m., about 15 minutes early, but their client wasn’t there yet. They seemed to ignore this fact and sat down in the lawyer’s-only part of the courtroom.

While Enwright’s attorneys seemed oblivious, Enwright walked into the gallery and sat down next to a Marine Corp Veteran named Charles Gundlach, who especially hates pedophiles and groomers. This was not a good place to sit, but Enwright seemed confused and his attorneys didn’t properly guide him through the process as many defense attorneys consulted by KCE said.

While Enwright was sitting in the gallery, two Kenosha Detectives entered the room and spoke to Commissioner Michel, seemingly telling him that they were about to execute a search warrant on Enwright and seize his phone.

In a room with four TV cameras and two still photographers, Enwright seemed overwhelmed and confused when he was pulled aside by police. They took him into a side room initially, until they realized it was full of media representatives. They then went into the outside hallway.

ADA Alexandra Smathers had a slight grin on her face as she knew exactly what would happen next. Police took Enwright’s phone, which he kept and brought with him to court. It is presumably being forensically analyzed by the Kenosha Police Detective Bureau. The software that KPD uses is the same used by the FBI and other top law-enforcement agencies. It can and will discover evidence, even if deleted.

In an affidavit, or under oath statement meant to convince a judge to sign a search warrant, new details have been discovered in this case. In the search warrant affidavit it is revealed that the victim told a friend that there was sexual contact between her and Enwright. According to the affidavit, the victim told a friend, “I can remember our hugs are really touchy, and he like grabbed my ass.” She also told the friend “He’s gonna do other stuff to me because I like good grades,” followed by “That’s why I got great grades in science class last year.” And finally she told her friend “And I think [Enright] would like saying I did……He wants me to be like a little kid that he wants to fuck.”

Perhaps the most telling information learned from the search warrant was a paragraph written by the detective in his affidavit, “Upon review of all information and digital evidence recovered thus far in this investigation, there are concerns that communications have been held for the past several months between an adult male faculty member named (Christian Enwright) and a juvenile female, “Holly” from the same school; communications which could be deemed inappropriate or even sexual in nature. There is evidence of the involved juvenile female “Holly” making utterances on video that are concerning of her being a potential victim of sexual abuse or sexual conduct involving the adult male staff member who has been identified in this case as (Christian Enwright).”

KCE will follow up if the cell phone evidence leads to more charges. You can read the entire search warrant and affidavit here.

  1. Kevin Mathewson—-No doubt those in Kenosha’s criminal justice system, all with some at KUSD, would have simply let all this slide and passed it one to some other shcool system….except for your diligent and unrelenting asking of questions and coverage.

    Well done!

  2. Kevin – thank you for the work that you do. There are few investigative journalists in Wisconsin and you are doing such important work. I’ve heard you referenced on the Mark Belling show on my commute home and I’m proud that we have someone like you taking on this challenge in Kenosha County. My hope is that it inspires others around the state with the guts and skills to do what you are doing.

    43
    4
    1. Well don’t expect the KNews to investigate or discover anything. They have not had an investigative headline; well I cannot remember when…
But Jacob Blake? Well you MAY have read the KNews reports. Nothing positive for police.
KNews is an AP liberal sh*t rag.
      I don’t have a bird. So I don’t need the paper.

      11

  3. At what point do we look at KUSD as a whole and decide to clean house of all of the admins and school board. This is clearly becoming an epidemic in the school system with multiple teachers. They all need to hang.

    30
    5
    1. There definitely needs to be a cleansing of the top administration at KUSD. This is absolutely disgusting and it should not be tolerated! Get them out!

      22
      3
      1. The KUSD Administration and School Board are very sympathetic to pedophiles especially when the individual in question is connected to the school district in some way. Disgusting.

        19
        3
      2. They need to be fired and not allowed to resign so they can’t get back in schools. Start thinking about the kids!!!

        14
  4. Parents,
Do you assume you have no right to search through your minor children’s phones and computers? If so, you are wrong.
You have every right, and it is your parental responsibility, to know exactly what is happening online regarding your kids.
Look at their photos, read their texts, get their passwords, search thru their social media accounts. You could be saving your child from
    sexual and/or emotional abuse.

    26
    1. Not only do I, as a parent, had a right to search the phone, I had a right to monitor my minor’s phone. There’s no legitimate reason for a child to have a phone with access to the world of evil and distracting content. Our kids did not get cell phones until they were 16 because they were driving and then they were monitored on the cell phone and the time used was specific apps was very limited. In fact the program we used would allow them to earn additional time to play games if they did their chores. But this is hard. Kids don’t love it. It’s not like what their peers get to do. But has a parent who loves and cares for their kids, and who doesn’t have my head in the sand to the dangers in the evils of this world, I’m fulfilling my obligation before God to raise my kids right and the way that honors him.

      12
      1. Amen to this! We need to rebuild the family unit around God. Bring back family time instead of relentless activities. I guess I’m getting pretty old, I long for the days of Sunday, family dinner and just enjoying being together as a family. Adults are stressed or too busy on their cell phones and kids aren’t getting the parenting they need and deserve. This opens the door for abusers to fill that need.

        13
        2
  5. You need to pat yourself on the back, because nothing would have been done without your relentless pursuit of this pedophile. Thank you so much, Kevin. This is one more pedophile taken out of circulation.

    45
    4
  6. When they find posts on his phone sympathetic to BLM, how long will it take Gravely to outsource the prosecution to another county and then offer a plea deal with no jail time?

    9
    3
  7. The School System has made us believe that it’s an eight hour day five day week process. It takes a couple of hours every single day to homeschool your children. Working parents are doing it all over the country right now. We learned in Covid, for a 99.9 percent survival rate, that we will pull our children out of school! There is a virus in our schools with a 99.9 percent spiritual mortality rate! Start Homeschooling! Contact HSLDA ( Homeschool Legal Defense Association) and ask them the best way you can start. They can direct you to a lot of resources and if you become a member, they give you full legal representation at NO COST!

GET YOUR CHILDREN OUT OF THESE SCHOOLS!

    14
    6
    1. Let’s get real. KUSD has over 1600 teachers. Kevin identified less than 1%. The vast majority of teachers are good people doing a good job.

Yes, we should have zero tolerance for these sickos and the administrators who cover for them but we also should not lose sight of the big picture.

      20
      5
    2. I wouldn’t trust a good percentage of parents to have the brainpower to teach their kids anything. Teachers (good teachers… Not pedophiles or drunks) teach children a wide variety of things they will need to know in life. School also builds confidence, independence and socialization skills.

You think the average redneck at home is going to teach them math, geography or history? I sure as hell doubt it.

      9
      14
      1. Studies have proven that homeschoolers score higher than most traditional school students, when given standardized testing. They also show that homeschooling families are happier & healthier, and children have higher levels of emotional maturity, as well as more appropriate social interactions, given that they spent more time in the “real world” as opposed to spending their days sitting in a cement-block box.

        13
        3
      2. The long history of homeschooling flies in the face of your ignorant and biased comments. Every parent who loves their children should make sure that they receive a quality education free of radical ideologies. And our current school system, where they don’t know the difference between a boy and a girl and tell you that you can be any gender you want, and then encourage you to get life altering sex surgeries to comport with that gender you think you know a member of, something is broken.

        16
        4
      3. Judging by the literacy rates and test scores coming out of the schools, the average redneck is just as effective.

        19
        6
      4. SE WI has a robust, thriving homeschooling community. Before you spout off about things of which you clearly know nothing, maybe do a bit of research into homeschooling results vs. students who are a product of brick-and-mortar schools. Nothing builds more confidence or teaches independence & social skills more than living life on a day-to-day basis.

The idea learning these skills by going to the same building every day, where you are told what to say, when you may say it, what to do, where to sit, where to go, what you may eat, what you may not— it’s laughable that you believe that in this setting, children will learn to be anything other than bots for “the man.”

        Be real.

        8
        3
        1. Home schooling can be beneficial for some children. That doesn’t mean it’s not without its own set of issues and, of course, it’s not for everyone. And not all families have the resources to do it.

          1. Less problematic than the local (Kenosha, Racine, Mke) schools, and can be done for surprisingly little money. There’s TONS of free curricula available, lots of opportunities to purchase used, but like new, materials for next to nothing. I’m on year 6, with 7 kids, and I spend less than $300/year combined.

It’s not for everyone— but the barriers people put in place are typically mental- or, they’re using the school system as a babysitter.

            6
            2
      5. No, the “average redneck” will teach them about God, how to balance a checkbook, how to garden, how to not be an asshole, how to think for themselves, now not to get brainwashed about this DEI (DIE) garbage, and on and on. They’ll teach them MORE than the government schools ever will.

  8. Oh really, that one guy in the gallery “especially hates pedophiles and groomers”? I’ve always wondered why people go out of their way to make that known. Are they trying to separate themselves from the other half of the population that supports “pedophiles and groomers”? What’s next, the “I really, really hate murderers” society? Strange stuff, indeed.

    1. Usually such things are heard as a result of “projection”. People will use a “not me, it’s them” attitude when trying to point fingers at others to take the eyes off of them.

Example: A member of a political party calling the people in a different political party stuff like insulting names and false accusations. And yet, many of them act and think just the same as what they are projecting onto others.

And the louder they are towards others, the more they’re probably hiding about themselves.

      4
      1
      1. I see what you are saying but it is not accurate in this situation because Chuck didn’t actually say these words. We believe every person that commits a crime should be held accountable and those that commit crimes against children & the elderly have a special place in hell.

        9
        1
    2. These words weren’t actually said by my husband, however Kevin knows us and is aware that any crime against a child is unacceptable.

      15
  9. Part of me hopes that the search finds a ton of incriminating evidence and part of me hopes not because it would be nice if it wasn’t worse.

  10. In case no one has told you lately… you do a great job and service for our community. The rag we call a newspaper doesn’t cover any if this. How come? Stay safe👍

    12

  11. I am pleased my kids are older and out of the KUSD filth. This pedo sh*t has been going on before I graduated in the late 70s.
I could name names, but won’t.
    KUSD is a cesspool.
    Overloaded with admin.
    Teachers only concerned their retirement.
    Or grabbing adolescent *ss.

    5
    1
  12. Why is everyone so “shocked”? This is a very common male fantasy. When men want their women to be “bald”, that is the pedo fantasy, and any woman who agrees to it feeds that fantasy. Look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself if you have enabled and encouraged this very disturbing and sick fantasy, and if you have, then turn your outrage on yourself for normalizing such a disgusting fantasy.

Same thing goes for those of you who are into the “female must submit to the husband” garbage. That is dehumanizing to women and is a form of grooming. Want to stop this evil behavior? Change your ways, and until you do, save the fake outrage.

    2
    6
    1. Not sure how your fitting these ideas into one, but many, many people don’t understand the Biblical term “submit”. If you’re not a Christian then carry on, if you are- you need to re-read the Bible in its entirety with the help of a theologian or two.

      2
      0
  13. Wish those cops woulda gave him some extra-judicial gut punches in the little side room —- maybe Christian accidentally fell down some stairs? That’s what happens in FIBland ——- cheezheads are too much straight shooters

    2
    1
    1. Not all of us, there are your “average rednecks” you know… 😉 but we’re too busy screwing up our kids by homeschooling them. Bahahahahaha

      2
      1
      1. Right, because our public schools would NEVER do that. Just trust the government to raise them, they know best… Idiot.

  14. Residents of KUSD School District, elections matter! You had 4 solid candidates running for school board. Those 4 conservative valued candidates would not have stood for this! Kristine and Bob remain in the minority and are fighting against a liberal progressive majority. These elections matter a great deal! You have pedophile/sexual deviant sympathizers sitting on the KUSD school board!
What will you do next election to help get principled candidates elected? Run for office, help get candidates elected, vote??
