According to the criminal complaint:

On April 23, 2024, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department and the Somers Fire Department responded to the Pike Ridge Townhomes in the 2200 block of Sheridan Rd for a report of a fire. When deputies arrived, they found three cars on fire.

The Somers fire chief initially didn’t notice anything suspicious about the fire, but later reviewed surveillance video from the complex and saw an arsonist. He then notified the Kenosha Sheriff’s Department who sent a detective to investigate. The man whose car was first set on fire was not home at the time, but his wife was. Police learned that there was seemingly a love triangle that made Dominique Thomas, the mistress, very angry at the owner of the first car that was set on fire.

The wife stated that on April 23rd, Thomas arrived at her residence and began pounding on the door of her residence. Thomas began yelling “so who’s going to come outside and fight me, fight me bitch?” The wife did not know if Thomas was yelling for her or the husband to come outside.

The wife stated that she never answered the door and Thomas stated “oh so I’ma do this, oh OK.” As Thomas left, the wife explained that she saw Thomas walk toward the husband’s car, open the passenger side door, and sat in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Shortly after, Thomas exited the passenger side of the vehicle and left in a white van. The wife stated there was a male wearing a hat and smoking in the driver seat of the van when Thomas left.

The wife advised that after Thomas left in the van, she observed the husband’s vehicle on fire. The wife told the husband to the call the police, however the husband stated “no I’m going to handle this, I am just going to put it out.” The wife said she and the husband went outside to extinguish the fire by pouring water onto the vehicle. The wife explained that once she reached the husband’s vehicle, she observed a fire located near the center console portion of the vehicle. The wife was asked if she smelled anything like gasoline and she replied in the negative. When asked, the wife said the flames in the vehicle were “little” and concentrated at the center console.

After extinguishing the fire, the wife and the husband returned to their residence. The wife explained after approximately 10-20 minutes, she looked out the window and observed the husband’s vehicle to be completely in flames. After seeing the husband’s vehicle on fire for the second time, the wife called 911. Shortly after, deputies and fire personnel arrived on scene. The wife explained that she did not observe how the second fire was started.

A Sheriff’s Detective asked the wife why she did not tell law enforcement about the incident involving Thomas initially. The wife explained that she was in shock and she did not want people to hear her blaming Thomas. The wife went on to explain that she is in fear of Thomas.

A voluminous amount of surveillance video was collected depicting Thomas starting the husband’s car on fire. The fire spread to two other cars. The fire chief believed that if not for the wind direction, the fires could have spread to the residences, only 50 feet away. The videos also showed that Thomas returned to the car after it was first extinguished to reignite the vehicle.

Police located the suspected “getaway driver” who claimed he didn’t know that Thomas set a car on fire but did admit Thomas told him she did. He said he didn’t believe her.

Kenosha County Assistant District Attorney Drew Lehman In Court Today
(Photo by Kevin Mathewson, Kenosha County Eye)

in court today Kenosha County Assistant District Attorney Drew Lehman asked for a $100,000 cash bail, stating:

“This is an incredibly serious case that could have gotten out of hand pretty easily on the defendant. Ms. Thomas made the choice not only to set fire to somebody’s vehicle not once, but twice. That demonstrates her utter disregard for any other individuals. I would further note that the defendant’s not a resident in the state of Wisconsin. She lives in Waukegan, Illinois, and it seems that she was only up here to commit these very dangerous acts. Further, I would note that the defendant has been aware of this warrant since at least it was charged. Detectives got into contact with me stating that she has pretty extensive family who have been helping her avoid apprehension by law enforcement up until this point. But for an anonymous tip, the defendant would likely still be in the wind. She has no ties to this community, and I would note that unless a substantial cash bond, the amount of $100,000, is imposed, we would likely never see her again given her already prolific attempts at avoiding responsibility for this.”

Thomas’ attorney asked for a lower bail, but Kenosha County Circuit Court Commissioner William Michel II set bail at $75,000 cash saying “The court does believe that a substantial amount of cash is warranted.”

Thomas is due back in court on August 18, 2024 for a preliminary hearing.

  1. I give credit! Most black people in this situation would have likely shot the wife and guy. Kudos to Ms. Thomas!

        1. Hey, it’s not racist if it’s true. All those Black do is kill each other and law-abiding citizens. All this Black on Black crime, you don’t see all that with the white on white crimes. All the Black’s and their guns in this sanctuary city. I’m a firm believer in the second amendment, just not for those Black’s.
