KENOSHA, Wis. – A 17-year-old Kenosha girl was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct while armed, after allegedly threatening her ex-boyfriend and his brother with a knife during a confrontation last month.
Nyasia Rochelle Johnson is accused of arriving uninvited to her ex-boyfriend’s garage on May 13, refusing to leave, and brandishing a pocket knife. The incident occurred in the 3700 block of 17th Avenue.
According to the criminal complaint, Johnson repeatedly texted her ex asking to meet. When he finally agreed, she showed up and was seen in the garage playing with a knife. The boy told police she refused to put it away despite his repeated requests.
He eventually entered the garage to retrieve a bike and air pump for his mother, walking past Johnson both entering and exiting. After the mother left on the bike, Johnson allegedly grew angry when she noticed the boy’s younger brother recording her with his phone. She walked toward him and reportedly said, “You want to be next?”
Johnson then followed her ex-boyfriend toward the house and allegedly slashed at him with the knife. Both teens ran inside and locked the door. Their mother later called 911.
Police found Johnson nearby. She initially denied having a knife but eventually admitted it belonged to her grandmother. She said she may have lunged at the boy with it but claimed she was “just playing.” She also allegedly told officers, “I wanted to kill him,” though she insisted she didn’t mean it. The knife was never recovered.
Johnson was taken into custody by Kenosha police and later posted the $150 statutory bail.
She is charged with disorderly conduct while using a dangerous weapon, a Class B misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days in jail and an additional six months due to the weapon enhancer.
Her initial appearance is scheduled for June 10, 2025, at 1 p.m. before Court Commissioner William Michel II.
