“I Love You,” Late-Night Texts, Gifts, Alleged Grooming: Westosha Central Counselor Resigns in Lieu of Termination

KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. — A Westosha Central High School counselor accused of grooming-like behavior toward a female student has resigned in lieu of termination following an internal investigation. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has now flagged his professional license as “under investigation.”

Conner Olsen was placed on paid administrative leave on March 19, 2025, after district officials launched a probe into allegations of inappropriate conduct. Records reviewed by Kenosha County Eye reveal that Olsen exchanged frequent and late-night text messages with the student—some as late as 11:03 p.m.—and told her she was “beautiful.” He also gave her multiple personal items, including a poem, a keychain, food, a fidget ring, red light therapy equipment, and a knee brace.

The district’s report found that Olsen shared intimate personal information with the student—information he admitted he had never even shared with his wife. He also told the student “I love you,” a phrase he claimed he commonly used with students to express general support.

Olsen initially denied many of the claims but later admitted to several after being confronted with contradictions during a second interview. The district determined that he falsified attendance records, transported the student to school without approval on at least two occasions, and violated multiple school policies regarding boundaries, reporting, and communication.

District Administrator John Gendron confirmed to KCE that while the conduct was not referred for criminal charges, the district was actively pursuing termination when Olsen resigned on April 18.

License Now Under Investigation

The district reported Olsen’s conduct to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction pursuant to state law. DPI has since updated its public license database to show that Olsen’s pupil services license is “under investigation,” signaling potential disciplinary action is under review.

The district submitted its full investigative file to DPI, including documentation that outlined multiple policy violations and Olsen’s admissions.

Internal Report Points to Grooming Behavior

The internal investigation, led by Principal Kevin Kitslaar and Director of Pupil Services Lauren Spierenburg, flagged a number of troubling patterns:

Paid Advertisement
  • Olsen sent the student late-night text messages and told her not to share what they discussed in his office.
  • He gave her unsolicited gifts, including items purchased outside of school.
  • He told the student he loved her and called her beautiful.
  • He spent extended periods alone with the student in his office with the door closed and blinds drawn.
  • He transported her in his personal vehicle without parental or district permission.
  • He shared personal stories involving depression and past relationships.

Staff reported concerns about the frequency and duration of their interactions, with one noting Olsen had claimed to meet with the student for three and a half hours during the school day.

The district concluded Olsen’s conduct violated school board policies on gift-giving, staff-student boundaries, attendance reporting, and supervision. The findings also cited violations of professional ethical standards established by the American School Counselor Association.

Deputy Alexander Hyatt, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department

SRO Fails to Initiate Criminal Review

Despite the serious nature of the allegations, no criminal investigation was launched. School Resource Officer Deputy Alexander Hyatt of the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office was reportedly aware of the matter but did not refer it for a criminal review.

This is not the first time Hyatt has faced scrutiny for inaction. When a boy was exposing himself in the girl’s locker room, Hyatt didn’t take any law enforcement action either. In a separate case at Kenosha Unified School District, teacher Christian Enwright was criminally charged in 2024 after a Kenosha Police Department investigation revealed concerning communication with a student. The Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office ultimately filed 22 misdemeanor charges in that case. He pleaded guilty to 15 counts for extremely similar conduct.

In contrast, the Olsen matter was handled exclusively at the administrative level, prompting criticism over the inconsistent response to similar allegations depending on the school district or investigating agency.

Olsen’s Rebuttal

In a written response before resigning, Olsen denied any intent to groom or engage in inappropriate conduct. He claimed the gifts were counseling resources and the text messages were supportive in nature. He also said the closed blinds were standard for privacy and that he only transported the student when her regular ride was unavailable.

Olsen acknowledged telling the student she was beautiful and saying “I love you,” but insisted those comments were made to support her emotional well-being and were not romantic in nature.

He criticized the district’s investigation as one-sided and claimed he felt “unsupported and invalidated,” which contributed to his decision to resign.

Kenosha County Eye will continue to monitor DPI’s review and report on any action taken against Olsen’s license.

  1. When will educational staff (and others) understand boundaries with students? It seems like monthly another “educator’ is revealed crossing the line with students. Parents please monitor your child’s phone and electronic devices.

    1. I don’t understand how anyone, especially professionally employed people, would be stupid enough to engage in these types of criminal behaviors. With the digital footprints you leave, getting caught is enviable.

        1. I agree…
But also think personally, that children especially girls are dressing inappropriate these days. And with their “LACKING” dress codes, also comes their wanna be adult like attitudes. I’ve seen young girls dress & talk as though they’re “experienced”
AND, they’re getting it from somewhere…. and it’s majorly not good as it’s disrespecting themselves. Breaks my heart why they think they gotta be that way, and why are parents even buy the cloths and or allow them to speak so freely. NOW PLEASE don’t misunderstand what I’m saying. Ok, I do understand adults need to be the adult! I’m just trying to bring to the attention that teachers ARE HUMAN too. AND, when they’re being tempted, as I know they are, then 9 out of 10 times they will fall! I’m spking along the lines of girls trying to be grown up. I know there’s plain ole sick individuals as well, no matter their age or clothing worn. And so the bottom line is, when we, and this includes kids, teachers parents, pastors, adults, EVERYONE.. NEEDS to have God 1st in our lives PERIOD!
Ok, cuz life is way too hard, and the temptations to powerful, the stress overloads of being told this, or that, is what gets you this, and that, like it’s too much for us to take on without our Holy Spirit. This is hugely why Jesus died for us. So he cld live in each of us, helping us and showing us the way, guiding our path and letting us know when this or that isn’t good, and when to run away or when to run near something… Evil is upon us, Satan came to kill, steel and destroy EVERYTHING good. But walking with God will help purify the mind and blind us from Satan’s nasty! This teacher is just as human as you an I. We are ALL MAKING SOME SORT OF MISTAKE. Some get caught, thankfully… but point is that everyone is human and humans are sinful but we don’t have to be if we do our part and open up our hearts to the free gift our creator, Gods given us. Stop living for the world and start living for it’s creator, I’ll bet we see a hugh change!!

    2. As bad as this is, some public school personnel all over the country commit stuff far worse than this.
It’s shocking and baffling how it goes on and people do nothing about it.

      1. It’s because the left fucks children. The left runs the schoolboard. Look at all the tranny bullshit in the schools. THEY WANT OUR CHILDREN.
        HANG THEM ALL!!!!

        3
        10
  2. Why is the school resource officer even employed if he doesn’t actually do his job? Seems like another tax burden for no benefit.

    19
    3
    1. Not once but twice, what should have been enough to start a criminal investigation was not done !!!
      Why ?!?!?
What would have to take place for Hyatt to do one of the functions of his JOB ?!?
Sheriff Zoerner, this officer needs to be replaced !!
      Immediately !
Get the next one in the pipeline for next school year.
And why not try a Female ??

Considering the last two problems at Central, does anyone believe a Female officer would not have responded differently ?!?

      13
      5
  3. .. about Hyatt as it is the Counselor.

Let’s just hope Hyatt isn’t on boat patrol for the summer. All those swimsuits ! Just what he’s probably “looking” for.

Put him on nights. For the next 5 years !!
Until he sees the error of his Inactions !!

    10
    6
  4. The SRO surly (don’t call me Shirley) should be sending in weekly reports of any school action or incidents to his uppers.
And also asking those same uppers what to do about any incidents.

Additionally, at his level of authority and experience he should be referring most any questionable concerns to his superiors inside those weekly reports.
The SRO here should not be making any decisions NOT to investigate. He should be referring and getting clearance Clarence for anything he sees.

In a a nutshell his job is to observe and report. And if he didn’t report any of this then he should be fired !!
But if he did report these two problems and nothing happened then Zoerner needs to answer why !!

    11
    1
  5. Hire a new SRO.
    Demand a Female !!!!

People have called for your firing.
    As they should !

So fire Hyatt. Demand a Female SRO.
Let that change restore the confidence the parents should have in you to lead this school.
Otherwise, call it a career and retire. Because if you’re not going to make a decision like this,
then why are you here ?

    10
    4
    1. There are more women gettin popped for fucking with boys now. Why would that change anything?

      2
      2
      1. On the sexual harm scale,
and I know I’m going to get a lot of pushback here, I’m soooo much more concerned about males harming females than females harming males.
90% of straight males have the fantasy of being with older women.
        I’ll leave it at that

        1. Just so i understand, it’s ok the fuck underage males, just not underage females. Got it, lady teacher

      2. in the locker rooms.

Remember the past situation with lotion boy in the girls locker room ?
Don’t you think that would not have been allowed and not referred for charges if the SRO was female ??
Or are all these decisions made in Kenosha ?
Just how much decision ability do these SROs have ?

        1. What about when that boy identifies as a female?! Because that happens all the time. It makes no difference. The left fucks kids. Period.

  6. It is so disappointing to see what has happened to Central. 20-25 years ago that school was incredible. It seems the standards are gone. Absolutely disgusting. Also what is going on with grown men needing mental, emotional and physical validation from high school students? We have an epidemic of lowlifes in schools. Time to clean house.

    13
    2
    1. That EXACTLY the issue.
These are NOT Grown Men !

These are boys whose parents never raised them to be MEN !

Being Men requires a respect of women and children.

It’s also a lack of confidence.
Any man who can’t get “what he wants” from women his own age should turn in his man card.
That statement was not written in jest. It’s the truth.

As in many things like this in life,
      I Blame the Parents !!

The parents of this individual should be ashamed they raised this BOY so that he remained one.

Society as a whole doesn’t respect or understand masculinity and the responsibilities it requires like we did in the past. So males today get confused easily.
But again, I blame the parents

      12
