
RACINE, Wis. — A 52-year-old man is dead and a 21-year-old man remains hospitalized following a late-night shooting that stemmed from an apparent burglary on Racine’s north side.
Police were called to the 800 block of St. Patrick Street at approximately 11:26 p.m. on Friday, July 11, for reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers located two males—ages 52 and 21—both suffering from gunshot wounds to the abdomen. Life-saving measures were immediately attempted, and both victims were transported to a local hospital.
The older of the two men succumbed to his injuries, while the younger remains under medical care. Their identities have not yet been publicly released.
According to Racine police, the shooting was the result of a burglary that escalated into violence. Investigators have interviewed the suspected shooter, but no arrests have been announced as of Saturday afternoon. The case remains active and under investigation.
