Kenosha’s City Clerk/Treasurer was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated just shy of his one-year anniversary of being appointed to his post. On Friday, October 8, 2021 at 9:44pm, Krauter was stopped by Kenosha Sheriff’s Deputy James Kostrewa in his 2013 Black Infinity according to court records. He was cited for DWI, operating with a blood alcohol concentration of over .15, and operating left of center.
In Krauter’s resignation letter, dated December 27, 2021 he resigned effective January 10, 2022. This is a busy time of the year for the Clerk/Treasurer’s office due to tax payments and the upcoming election. A City of Kenosha representative told the KCE that the City is equipped and prepared for both. Deputy City Clerk, Nicole Lawler will take over as acting Clerk/Treasurer for now.
Even if convicted, in Wisconsin, a first DWI is non-criminal. He is next due in court on February 11, 2022.

Hey, at least he did what was right. Give over. Plenty wouldn’t own up.
“operating left of center.”
If only that were a crime!
