These guys are all part of a gypsy crew. Tons of them in the Chicago area for years. They specialize in home repair fraud, sealcoating and blacktop scams, among other things. A big flag is they’re usually driving brand new pickup trucks, most likely displaying out of state registration plates. I was glad to have had the opportunity to put bracelets on a few of them.
These criminals are called “travelers”. Their “blacktop coating” is used motor oil they get for free from oil-changing places. It looks good for a couple of hours before the homeowner catches on, long enough for them to be long gone. I’ve researched these people for some years; their beliefs are that those outside their clan *deserve* to get scammed. That’s how they justify what they do. If they show up in your neighborhood, get plate numbers and call KPD.
Exactly, they are raised to believe that anyone who can be scammed was too stupid to deserve whatever they have. It’s easy to hurt people when you’ve already dehumanized them.
Gypsy or whatever. This guy looks as though he should be standing on 142 & Hwy 31 displaying a cardboard sign “Please Help, God Bless you.” Of course he’d have to incorporate the fake shake they all do.
Seal them under the ground. Problem solved.
Seriously, who would hire someone that looked like that?
This guy is an innocent guy. He only charge 10 gallons at $49 a gallon that is $490. So the charges meter
