KENOSHA, Wis. — A 53-year-old Kenosha woman is facing felony charges after police say she shoved her 74-year-old neighbor to the ground during a property line argument, leaving the elderly woman hospitalized with a brain bleed. Court Commissioner William Michel II set bail at $2,500 cash today. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 12.
Incident Details
According to the criminal complaint, Tabitha E. Weston became irate on September 6 when her neighbor’s dog and a crate crossed into her yard. Witnesses told police Weston sprayed both the 74-year-old woman and a 17-year-old companion with a garden hose, threatened to use a firearm, and shoved the elderly woman onto a concrete walkway.
The victim was transported to Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital, where doctors confirmed she suffered a brain bleed from the fall. A teenage witness captured the altercation on video and told police Weston also shouted insults after the woman hit the ground.
Charges
Weston is charged with battery to an elder person causing great bodily harm, disorderly conduct, and obstructing an officer. If convicted on all counts, she faces up to 40 years and 9 months in prison and fines totaling $111,000.
Court Hearing
Weston appeared in intake court today where she was formally charged. The case is assigned to Judge Jason Rossell, with her next court date set for September 12.
