BRISTOL, Wis. — Military veterans, service members, and their families are invited to a free evening of climbing and camaraderie at Boundless Adventures in Bristol Woods Park on Friday, Sept. 19. The annual event features two-hour aerial-park sessions between 3:30 and 10 p.m., with the final start time at 7:30 p.m. Space is limited, and advance registration is required.
What to Expect
Light refreshments will be available, and a 6 p.m. ceremony will honor the service and sacrifice of the military community. Local veteran-focused organizations will be on site to share information about programs and resources.
Who Can Climb
Active-duty personnel, reservists, veterans, and up to two family members per participant may climb at no cost. Civilians are welcome to join for $45 per person; proceeds this year benefit Veterans of Foreign Wars Father Matthias Zerfas Post 11279 in Twin Lakes.
Organizer Statements
“Each year, the Veterans Climb is an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to our veterans and active-duty military,” County Executive Samantha Kerkman said, noting the partnership that brings the event together. Boundless Adventures co-owner Brian Funtleyder added, “The brave men and women who have and continue to serve our country deserve thanks, not just today, but every day. We deeply appreciate their bravery and commitment to sustaining our nation’s core values.”
