Any teacher that walks out should be reprimanded for political activity on the job. Any students that walk out should be forced to form a single file line outside the door to check back in and have their attendance properly documented as unexcused/truant. Simple as that. These are not toddlers, they don’t “need to be supervised” by a teacher who just wants to protest at work.
You’re right, they’re NOT toddlers, they are teens practicing their first amendment right, which you people LOVE to shout, overrides all state laws like truancy, or like teachers not being able to protest. Or is it that federal law is ONLY above state law when it’s convenient for you.

Don’t throw all of the blame on teachers. There are parents that think this is okay.
I worked at Central long ago for eight years. It’s pretty clear that most students who might walk out are students who don’t give a crap about their education and are just following. a crowd. 9 out of 10 students couldn’t find Somalia, for example, if it were a map of Somalia. Want to make it more difficult? Show them a map of South America and ask where Somalia is. Show them a map of the Middle East, and ask them where Venezuela is..
Young people’s lack knowledge of politics and geography is appalling. If they want to walk out over ICE and immigration enforcement, do the protest on Saturday. School is more important.
Shame on any teachers and administrators at Central for approving a walk out that represents only certain students, not the school or the parents or taxpayers.
