TWIN LAKES, Wis. — A 38-year-old woman was fatally shot Monday morning inside a Twin Lakes apartment, and authorities say the suspect called 911 and admitted to the shooting.
Officers with the Twin Lakes Police Department were dispatched at approximately 9:02 a.m. to the Tan Oak Apartments, 1615 Wilmot Ave., for a report of a person who had been shot.

Dispatch audio indicates the male caller told authorities he had shot the woman and that she was already dead. The caller also reported a baby was inside the residence and that there were firearms in the apartment.
First responders arrived within minutes. According to dispatch records, the first unit was on scene at about 9:11 a.m., and the scene was secured shortly after. Officers detained a 35-year-old man without incident.

Inside the apartment, police located the 38-year-old woman with apparent fatal gunshot wounds. An 11-month-old child and a dog were also inside but were not injured.
Dispatch audio indicates the male caller told authorities he had shot the woman and that she was already dead. The caller also stated that “she kept lying to him,” though that claim has not been independently verified by investigators.

Emergency responders were initially dispatched for a “not conscious, not breathing” gunshot victim, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released the names of those involved.

The Twin Lakes Police Department is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau. Officials said the case remains active and ongoing, and there is no known threat to the public.

Now there is a child without a mother and if he’s the father, he’ll be in prison for the rest of his life.
Thank God he didn’t kill the child.
No words can express how much this is a tragedy.

The entire world is filling up with scum.
All the small, unincorporated or townships are affordable. There is cheaper housing. Poverty breeds crime. Some poor people or low income need help. A woman gets married, has 2-3 kids and her husband walks out or ends up in jail. She cannot work 2 full time low paying jobs and do well for her kids! Trump wants to cut every program out there.
If he turned himself in “what’s his name?” Of did TL just release the part where he said she was lying and leave the rest out. Shades of ole “flash” police work. So sad — Twin Lakes is plagued with drug dealers and users and nothing ever changes.
Maybe out of respect for the deceased. If they released his name then things could point to the deceased. The family has to be informed first. Get a grip!

As someone who knows the victim personally, you all have no respect and speculate behind your keyboards. NONE of you ever walked a mile in that girls shoes. I hope none of you ever have to. I hope none of you ever have to experience what she did in her final moments. Her Baby and her Dog now have to try to navigate a life with out her. Instead of hyping up stero types because you read an area where this happened, try to take a moment to know her Family, Friends, Co-workers all can see this and read this. We all are trying to process what happened and why! At the end of the day no matter what, no one deserved their story to end like this!
She was an innocent victim. This is so sad. It was the shooter that was scum. May he rot in jail forever. The worst part is we will be paying for him until he dies.

I’m so sorry for your terrible loss, and I hope you can just dismiss the comments here that are so insensitive and pathetic. I understand a bit of what you are going through, because my 1st husband was killed in a shooting. It is a horribly painful thing to go through as a loved one, and also to wonder what the victim experienced. I am sending you a hug, and praying for all who loved her and for her child.
