KENOSHA, Wis. — Elderly and disabled residents at Harborside Commons Senior Apartment Homes, a facility managed by Coachlight Communities LLC, say they have been stranded in their homes for nearly two weeks after the building's sole elevator failed, while allegations of bed bug infestations continue to circulate among residents and former residents. Family members and residents told Kenosha County Eye that despite repeated complaints, neither Coachlight Communities, the City of Kenosha, the Kenosha Fire Department, nor Mayor David Bogdala's administration have done anything to address what they describe as a serious and ongoing health and safety concern.

Mayor don’t care about disabled
Unless they want to build data centers.
David Bogdala mostly ex mayor after next election
The mayor dont care unless there is a major photo opportunity to have.all i see from him is himself injecting into every news media interviews. If he isn’t going to be on a state or national level he doesn’t care.
(From the Story)
KCE has also contacted Mayor David Bogdala, the City of Kenosha, and the Kenosha Fire Department. “Residents and family members have specifically questioned why a senior living facility housing elderly and disabled tenants was allegedly allowed to remain without elevator service for nearly two weeks” …..
…. “and why no meaningful action appears to have been taken”
CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN WHY ANY BUILDING THAT HAS NEED OF AN ELEVATOR ONLY HAS ONE ?!?!?
This is a failure of the city and the people who write the building codes and or allow changes to it to allow this building to be built with ONLY 1 ELEVATOR in the FIRST PLACE !!!!!
HOW FUCKING STUPID IS IT TO ALLOW ANY BUILDING OF THIS SIZE AND OR DESIGNED FOR SENIORS TO BE BUILT WITH JUST ONE ELEVATOR ?!?!?
Did the Fire Department sign off on this original building decision ?
WHO allows this ??
This is more than a failure of an elevator. This is a failure of the city and the people who run it.
It’s a little late in the game but going forward the city should pay upfront for a second elevator to be installed ASAP in this building and then assess a special assessment for its cost to the building owners to be paid back over 20 years.
The city fucked up allowing it in the first place and now should assist the owners to fix it.
