It was announced tonight at the County Board’s Executive Committee, that a deal to approve the bonding budget for capital improvements has been made. County Board Chairman Gabe Nudo is setting up a special meeting to vote on this new measure. A far-left group of board members utilized a decades-old loophole in which six members could stop the county from borrowing money for capital projects. The operating budget was passed on November 2, 2022 by a 17 to 6 vote. This budget that passed funded all county positions. The Supervisors that blocked the borrowing are Yuhas (D), Gentz (D), Gaschke (D), Kubicki (D), O’Day and Berg (D).

“Her Turn”
The blocking of borrowing money was organized by Monica Yuhas, a democrat that represents most of Pleasant Prairie. She was extremely upset that the board didn’t vote for her as the next County Board Chairman. She thought it was her turn. She asked others to join her in blocking the budget to borrow money. This move stopped borrowing for road improvements, body-cams for police, a generator for the county’s nursing home, 9-1-1 software and other capitol projects. This budget didn’t block any employees from working. That didn’t stop the six’s misinformation campaign, strongly echoed by the Kenosha News’ Terry Flores, who is herself a democrat.
“Misinformation”
“To me and my family and my co-workers, it’s not going to be a Happy Holidays. I had to have the most difficult conversation with my children recently and explain to them this year that I am not going to be able to buy them Christmas presents. My son asked my why and I told him that I had lost my job at no fault of my own.” This is what county public works Heavy Equipment Operator Rob Stecher told the county board on December 7, 2022. Someone, likely one of the six dissenters, told Rob and others that him and the rest of the public works department were losing their jobs. This is unequivocally untrue. Neither he nor any of his coworkers were in jeopardy of losing their jobs, but they were scared anyway. Terry Flores of the Kenosha News didn’t fact check this claim and put it on the front page anyway. This reckless misinformation had a lot of county employees fearing for their jobs in the name of politics. The ones who started this rumor and the Kenosha News acted without regard for the truth.
The group of six sent four representative to speak to highway workers. The group of 17 also sent representatives to speak to them. Most of the public works employees didn’t really concern themselves with who were at fault, but just wanted the budget passed for a piece of mind. We did speak to two employees present who told us “it was clearly the fault of the smaller protest group.”
Today KCE made contact with a highway worker names Jay Pucci who told us “I’m Just happy we were able to get both sides to talk and listen to our concerns and the made a deal happen before the holidays.” Pucci has been on the job for 8 years.
“We had several supervisors come down and talk to us about the layoff rumors and the bonding money. I appreciate the time they took to listen to our the highway workers’ concerns. I’m happy this was resolved in a timely manner, and hopefully we won’t have to deal with anything like this in the future,” said Josh Prybylski of the deal.
The entire board will likely vote next week on the bonding budget.

Of course. Now the democrats can say they saved the day and republicans are the issue. Typical look at me deflection. Just check the FB pages of those in the pics
The only far leftie is Berg.
HA! What rock do you live under
If you’ve ever read Berg’s stuff….
Merry Christmas to you Kevin. Thank you for all you do. A good measure of your effectiveness is how often you are reviled. Not all prophets are welcomed.
Yuhas was willing to hold up county government because she didn’t get her way . So 5 other weak minded elected Socalist decided to not do was was good for the people who elected them and support the the panties bunch that Yuhas had. I would say that’s sound judgement! Kubicki is so crooked when he dies they will have to screw him into the ground !
Keep electing Commies and this is what you get.
Sorry, but at the end of the day these supervisors had a larger point that has been way overlooked and that’s the county’s penchant to tax-and-spend (and not spend wisely). WHY are out taxpayers soaked MORE than Racine County (where there is no .5% county sales tax)? WHY so much bonding and outsourcing? WHY are basic need such as child protection not being met with all this taxation? WHY so much violence in our community? WHY so much turnover in the District Attorney’s office? There really needs to be a top to bottom look at county government.
These supervisors get elected without an opponent. And sit, do nothing in their district. You won’t even hear from some of them until election time, a riot breaks out, or any argument to fit their agenda. I know 2 that have gone with no opponent and are exactly like that. Complete joke and hypocrite Bergs district has had shooting, murders, theft, domestic violence, and drugs. What does he do about it? Nothing at all.
Andy Berg has had an opponent twice, once we’re sheriff and once for Alderman come up both times he failed. He only won uncontested elections
What would be a good story is a spreadsheet of the shootings and crime in each area, then who’s the alderman/supervisor in that district. That would be good knowledge for voters.
