KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. — Residents whose wells may have been impacted by recent flooding can continue receiving free well water testing services through the end of May, according to Kenosha County Public Health.
County officials announced Thursday that residents in flood-affected areas remain eligible for no-cost testing in an effort to help ensure drinking water safety following heavy rainfall and flooding conditions seen across portions of the county in recent weeks.
Test kits are available during regular business hours at multiple municipal and county locations, including the Kenosha County Center in Bristol, village halls in Bristol, Paddock Lake, Salem Lakes, Somers and Twin Lakes, as well as facilities in Pleasant Prairie, Randall and Wheatland.
Water samples will be collected at 3 p.m. every Tuesday through May 26 at the Kenosha County Center located at highways 45 and 50 in Bristol. Residents may also drop off samples Monday through Thursday at the Public Health offices inside the Kenosha County Job Center on Sheridan Road.
Public Health officials are encouraging residents with private wells that may have been exposed to floodwaters to take advantage of the testing program to check for possible contamination. The county also released information on well sanitizing and drinking water safety resources for homeowners concerned about water quality following the flooding.
Additional flood preparedness and recovery information is available through Kenosha County government resources.
