Lance Middle School hosts a charitable walk-a-thon every three years. The beneficiary is chosen through a student-led process that requires students to research charitable organizations, prepare presentations and participate in a school-wide vote.
This year, students selected the Make-A-Wish Foundation as the organization they wanted to support. School officials said the fundraiser reflects the school’s emphasis on civic engagement, service and student involvement in decision-making.
The school expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed to the effort, including students, staff members, families and community supporters who helped make the campaign a success.
School officials said the fundraising total will help Make-A-Wish continue its mission of granting wishes to children facing critical illnesses.

Congratulations on your wonderful work to help the Make A Wish foundation. This was a worth while cause. My niece benefited once and she talked about it all the time. Thank You.
Take this as your reminder that there is still good in the world! As a KUSD student, it feels like we only ever hear bad things about our schools. While those complaints are valid, KUSD is more than some bad apples within the school board and faculty of the schools. Kids like these are products of these schools, and for every story about a gun being brought to school, there are several of kids in KUSD being kind, looking out for their nieghbors, and being good citizens.
