A 29-year-old Burlington man passed away tragically yesterday in a construction accident. Cody J. Nelson, of Burlington, WI, was working on a project in the 9300 block of Sheridan Road in Pleasant Prairie. The accident, which occurred at about 3:00 pm, occurred while Nelson was working for Burlington-based “Bradford Contractors.” Facebook records show that Nelson was married for only about two years and appears to have two young children.
“The Pleasant Prairie Police Department extends its condolences to the co-workers and family affected by this tragic event,” said a police spokesman.
Nelson’s Facebook page was showered with kind words:
“You were the best of all of us brother. I miss you terribly! I will see You again my friend, of that I have no doubt. Love you Cody Nelson.”
“Your Colorado family is in shambles my dude. So much love my brother. I hope the fresh lines are endless up there. Rest in Paradise homie. I love you.”
“I wasn’t going to post anything but I feel like there’s no reason not to. Cody Nelsonwas one of the sweetest nicest caring people I’ve ever met in my life. Knowing him at a very young age into adulthood even though we were not close friends but anytime I saw him he would stop what he was doing to come give me a hug and say hi and catch up on life. He never to my knowledge cared if you were a cool kid or not he just cared that you were a person and you’re doing good my heart breaks for everybody.”
“This is unreal. You have affected so many lives with all your love and positivity. You were seriously the most loving guy I knew. Your energy filled the room and affected everyone in it. You were friends with EVERYBODY and there was a reason for that, you didn’t have a mean bone in your body. I can’t believe your gone you were a husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. I hope your family heals in this hard time Allie as well as the rest of Cody’s family and close friends please reach out if you need anything at all I really wish I could help make this easier. Time will heal. I’m so sorry this happened. Rest in peace Cody.”

So sorry to hear of this, all good thoughts to his family and friends. In a country where I am continuously desensitized by the endless deaths of Darwinian druggies and pew pews, it is doubly tragic when a working person dies doing what society needs done. ?
A horrible accident. Prayers for his family.
