(Kenosha County Sheriff)
KENOSHA, Wis. — A 32-year-old Kenosha man with a lengthy felony record was charged Monday with 10 criminal counts, including felon in possession of a firearm, false imprisonment, substantial battery, and multiple drug charges, after police say they found a stolen handgun, cocaine, marijuana, and evidence of a violent altercation inside his apartment.
Cordell A. Ford appeared in court where a court commissioner set his bail at $40,000 cash. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 19.
According to the criminal complaint, the investigation began the night of Aug. 8 when Ford arrived at St. Catherine’s Hospital claiming he had been stabbed. Kenosha police officers searching for a crime scene checked the Shenanigan’s taverns Ford mentioned but found no evidence of a stabbing. They instead went to his listed address at 2420 52nd Street, where they saw an open door, broken glass, and blood inside.
A woman at the scene, who lived in the apartment, told officers most of the belongings inside were Ford’s. During a probation search, officers reported finding a black Walther Q5 Match handgun — later confirmed stolen out of Racine — along with cocaine, marijuana, and THC products.
The woman later told police she had recently suffered a miscarriage and was sleeping when she realized her car, purse, and phone were missing. She said Ford refused to let her leave, grabbed her by the arms, and she fought back by hitting him with a cooking pot before losing consciousness. When she awoke hours later with facial injuries, she sought help and later recovered her belongings from Ford’s associate.
Ford faces charges including:
- Possession of a firearm by a felon (repeater)
- Felony bail jumping (repeater)
- False imprisonment, domestic abuse (repeater)
- Substantial battery, domestic abuse (repeater)
- Obstructing an officer (repeater)
- Taking and driving a vehicle without consent — abandon vehicle (repeater)
- Possession of cocaine (repeater)
- Possession of THC (repeater)
- Disorderly conduct, domestic abuse (repeater)
- Theft of movable property — firearm (repeater)
.
Court records show Ford has prior felony convictions in Wisconsin and Illinois, including a 2022 Kenosha County case for reckless endangerment and felon in possession of a firearm, and a 2013 theft from person conviction in Cook County, Illinois.
If convicted on all counts, Ford faces decades in prison.

… for men who beat women !!
Can’t get there soon enough
“Possession of a firearm by a felon (repeater)”
ALWAYS the first charge dropped in every criminal case. HOPEFULLY the new DA actually charges these goons and does not drop that charge. It’s mandatory jail and makes the liberal hypocrites and their “we need more gun laws” screeds useless.
Cordell is a real tough guy, … when beating women.
