SALEM, Wis. — A medical emergency at Salem Grade School on Wednesday afternoon briefly prompted an emergency response, but officials confirmed there was no criminal activity or threat to students.
According to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. and was later determined to be a medical event involving a staff member. Deputies and emergency medical personnel responded quickly, and the individual was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Lieutenant Daniel Ruth said the matter “was not suspicious in nature.” No further information about the staff member’s condition or identity was released, as the Sheriff’s Office does not disclose medical details.
At 3:06 p.m., Salem administrators sent a message to families assuring parents that “everyone is safe and no one was injured,” adding that emergency services “assisted us in addressing the situation quickly and professionally.”
Authorities emphasized that there was no danger to any students and that school operations have returned to normal.
