Kenosha Teen Held on $750 Bail Accused of Calling Inmates “Gay” Before Felony Jailhouse Attack

KENOSHA, Wis. — Seventeen-year-old Romello Chance Zamora of Kenosha, who was already being held on a $750 cash bail in a separate domestic-violence case, was charged in court on November 21 with a new felony after allegedly attacking another juvenile inmate inside the Kenosha County Jail . Court Commissioner William Michel II ordered an additional $5,000 cash bail, and Zamora is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on November 26.

Zamora had been in custody since November 14 after being charged with misdemeanor domestic-abuse battery and disorderly conduct in a prior incident. He remained jailed on the $750 bond when the fight inside K-Block occurred.

According to the criminal complaint, the confrontation began when Zamora was “talking smack” and repeatedly calling other inmates “gay” in an effort to provoke a fight. Witnesses told deputies that Zamora stood up, slapped the other teen across the face, punched him again, and forced him into a cell, where the victim struck his head on a metal sink. The teen’s face was cut and reddened, though he declined medical transport.

Two inmates said Zamora then warned them that he “wakes up before everyone else,” leaving them unsure whether he intended additional violence.

Prosecutors charged Zamora with battery by prisoners, a Class H felony punishable by up to six years in prison, along with disorderly conduct and eight counts of violating state or county institution laws, each carrying up to 30 days in jail. Zamora now faces a combined maximum penalty of six years and 360 days in jail.

Zamora remains in custody ahead of his November 26 preliminary hearing.

    1. Just because it’s family doesn’t mean they aren’t scared s******* and prefer that he stays in jail because perhaps that’s where he belongs? Maybe he’s made enough threats to family members that the last thing they want is for him to have a chance to do more damage before the eventual trial and sentencing to prison time?

    1. So young and angry! He is going no where fast with his life. Seek help kid! Your last name already has a bad reputation in Kenosha.

    2. This dude has been a nightmare to my family. He’s such a master manipulator and got my 16 year old sister into a huge mess because he’s schizo and psychotic and I’m so glad he’s locked up now so he can finally stop harassing and stalking us

  2. I AM NOT AN ATTORNEY BUT: Hi, everybody! My, my! Did you know that UNETHICAL attorney prosecutors sometimes lie in the Criminal Complaint? Yes, at least that happened in Shane’s case. Poor sap! I feel that good advice is to thoroughly examine your Criminal Complaint for incorrect addresses, dates, lies, errors and omissions. (Shane did not see his Criminal Complaint until over 1½ months after his Initial Hearing because he was not allowed to be at that hearing.) Afterwards I feel it is important to compare that Criminal Complaint with the police report(s). Last, but not least, I feel it is important to check up on the prosecutor years later to see if the prosecutor won an award for the crime you were WRONGFULLY prosecuted for – IF THAT BE THE CASE. An example would be for the prosecutor to win an award for Prosecuting the Most Sexual Offenders in the State of Wisconsin and be celebrated as the State Prosecutor of the Year for the crime you were wrongfully sentenced for. While Shane’s prosecutor was in Kenosha she earned this award per the Wisconsin State Journal. In other words, she DIDN’T EVEN NEED TO GO OUT OF KENOSHA TO EARN THIS STATE AWARD – she prosecuted enough “sexual” criminals in K-Town for this award! Isn’t that front-page news type-of-stuff? And Shane was at least one that she wrongfully convicted with one major FALSELY quoted word BY adding to Shane’s criminal complaint – the word “sexual” which added ONLY 30 years to his sentence! She also had serious omissions where the prosecutor left out that the woman “stated that she did not know if [Shane] had an erection during any part of the assault” – in two separate police reports! My, my! Why would she forget THAT sentence when it was stated TWICE? Shane knocked the woman off her bicycle and sat on her for a couple of minutes – just like he did with the man that he got 9 months for! This prosecutor is now an Assistant Attorney General. One thing about being an Assistant Attorney General is that your earnings are public! It appears making more than anyone else in her office is her newest goal AND checking up on her “closed cases.” Why would she do that? What is she doing to Shane with the information? H-m-m-m. She needs to know the real God – Jesus, and not the false god of money. However, she is the only one who can make that decision for herself! The sentencing judge used this false Criminal Complaint to sentence Shane and he did not even look at the police reports because they were not “presented” to him! I feel that K-town needs to keep their own money in their own pockets and NOT pay for state awards that promote unethical behavior and prosecute someone wrongfully at taxpayers expense (millions just for Shane) by denying them their human rights and U.S. Constitutional rights. Just another day in K-Town!
